Also, I kind of like the water type, so nyaaaaah.
Then tell me, does its head look bit like a Snowball to you?
I just noticed it myself.
Actually, I think he looks like a snowman clown. Or clown snowman. He still looks adorable nonetheless!

I would still go for the water type!

I'd probably find it "Adorable" as well, if not for the nose.

Something about it is just off-putting.

I've gone 50/50 on fire and grass. Bulbasaur, Cyndiquill, Treecko, Chimchar. Besides that, my borther tends to get the one I don't get, we both breed another one, and trade it to the other. This works perfectly for me, because the fire and grass are the most interesting to me. It all depends on final forms.

PS: I got ninja'd about naming the pig Bacon! And I'm getting white. Go Zekrom!

OT: The whole "tag mode" thing seems ok, but short-range wireless video chat is pointless.

Infernape and Blaziken were waaaaaay cooler than Typhlosion. Fire/Fighting is also a much better type than Fire/Flying. :p
But Charizard still beats them all. It's a flying, firebreathing dragon and it always looks pissed off. Simple but oh so delightfully effective.

Anyway, useless features aside I really am just looking for one teeny tiny added feature in Pokemon games:
[HEADING=2]Better goddamn AI!!![/HEADING]
It's plain pathetic, and not even in a funny way. Can my battles please be challenging for once?! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaase?????

Also, I have the feeling that our tiny little firepig will be one badass blazing boar in his later evolutionary stages. Think this:

But on fire. Awesome or what?
I actually suggest doing the double battle challenges at the Battle Frontier. Some of those are *tough*. The AI pulls some nasty tricks on you. Like using Swagger on a teammate who has a berry to eliminate confusion.

And I was never a Charizard fan myself, really :( Blastoise all the way.

In that linked video, wtf was up with the pokemon changing in appearance once their health dropped, and what appeared to be a person changing into a pokemon in the presence of another one?

It looks like the series may finally be trying to mature into more than just the handheld time waster its predecessors are. I loved that pokewalker idea with the last game and I plan to pick one up before I move down to the city for college this fall.(I intend to do alot of walking so I may as well make it interesting)
That's Zoruark (Japanese name), a shapeshifting pokemon.

I'm still going with Firepig as my starter, though. Who's with me?
I'm with you! Flaming Boar evolution will be amazing. I also want the Zebra. :)
I'm currently gunning for the Fire-type. Though I may reconsider depending on the number of wild Fire-types.

In battle animations? Are you bloodly serious?! Those are just barely animated sprites!

How hard can it be to animate one small furry animal making physical and violent contact with another furry animal.

Interesting, in which game is that? It's good they put that in then, but could they just please make the trainers and wild Pokemon a little tougher to beat? I mean really, giving a trainer 2 Kakunas with just Harden. Really? In Red I just remember the Elite Four being pretty challenging. For the first time. And I was freakin' 10 at the time.

As for Blastoise, yes he is freakin' awesome. A big badass tortoise with 2 cannons in his shell? Dibs!

It's in HeartGold/SoulSilver, either once you beat all 8 Kanto Gyms or beat the upgraded Elite 4 - you can fly there, and it has optional challenges.

And I found the Elite 4 in Platinum to be a pretty good challenge, especially the second time around. Cynthia's Garchomp will WRECK you if you don't have a good Ice-type, and her Milotic is a pain in the ass, too.

I hated the water starter at first, but he's grown on me. It's kind of like one of those pug dogs; repulsive at first glance, adorable on the second.

I think I'll either go with it or the fire starter (I don't think i'd be able to go the entire game with that grass starter staring smugly back at me, peering into my soul, knowing every dark secret I've ever held on to. Get out of my head, damn it. GET OUT OF MY HEAD! *sobs*)

For all those who doesn't know it yet. The water starter is an Oter. It's not really that hard to see after you just know it... Just the collar that's "a wee bit" off.

I'm waiting for the feature that makes my pokemon (remember its short for pocket monsters) actually monsters rather than plush dolls

Definitely going with Pig-lit as my starter. I hope to Mew that they make his fully evolved form's name Pignition.

But yeah... Silly face-chat thing.
That is the best

I will now use the firepig.

I think the grass one has a lot of personality. He just looks like he's saying, "Yeah, I know I'm badass."
...Or he's high. Either way, awesome.

The pig's grown on me though. I have to say I'm partial to the name Pignition, myself. Either that or Emboar.
