Yes. I am clearly trolling, not simply discussing a point I came across while browsing a favorite Japanese forum of mine.

Not everyone who says something you dislike is a troll. Learn that.
Its just that from what I've seen many Japanese game reviews tell that its practically perfect. So I highly doubted that "Japanese reviewers" said it was terrible.

And the most amount of pre-orders for a DS game also may say that.

I'll be getting White, bro's getting Black.

Zekrom looks badass.

And I'm interested in that new Boiling Water move. (A water move that may cause burns? WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?!)

I'm gonna get Oshawott (I always seem to like the Water-Type starters best, maybe because they're cuddly).

I wish that they would actually add more gameplay variety to this series, but they really have no reason to. I'm just getting sick of the same old formula; maybe they could add a better story, or some alternate gameplay modes that involve the trainers rather than the Pokemon? I don't know what exactly they could add, but I'd like it if they did.
Although almost every time Nintendo takes a risk with Pokemon (Pokemon Rangers, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, etc), it isn't nearly as successful as the latest rehash of the staple Pokemon franchise. I'd agree that a deeper storyline would be cool (and would be easy to add to the current formula), but what motivation does Nintendo have to truly reinvent the gameplay?

Anyway, I severely doubt I'll be getting either of these unless they do another competitive thing, I might then.
are you talking about the championships? they have those every year. You can now battle random players over wifi now. No need for friend codes.
Well I know you can over Wi-Fi, but getting together for a big thing is the only thing worth it for me. Only way to know nobody's cheating.

Yeah, I too think it'd be an awesome fire pokemon, but that episode of Bleach might be polluting my imagination, lol. A lion that uses ice moves might be cool, though. Or maybe I just like the name "Frost Lion." :p

Shinx was the first pokemon I caught and the second I came across when playing Pearl. It was the first pokemon I caught since I had played Red so many years ago. So, I already had a fondness for him, but then when I saw he was a little Lion, there was no way I could turn him down :D. I have two Luxrays now, one in Pearl (to help level my SS pokes) and one in SS, just to have one. I named them after my two former dogs, Thunder and Lightning.
Ice does sound good. I don't know the real reason, but I've never been into renaming my pokemon.

Diamond and Pearl was my first Pokemon game purchases since Gold and Silver. I had played Ruby and Sapphire generation on an emulator, and that got me nostalgic for actually having one I could play on my hand-held. Though I didn't have a DS, so I got it and Diamond. I got Pearl a few months later, and got Heart Gold this last summer. Team for HG: Typhlosion, Butterfree, Golduck, Exeggutor, Noctowl, and Dragonite.

I was thinking back two my favorites from from gen 1, it was so long ago that I have a hard time remembering how I felt back then. Charizard, Dragonite, Butterfree, Gengar and Starmie are in my list of favorites I know that.

One of those level 75's I talked about earlier in my Diamond is a Starmie. That thing is a powerhouse. Its set up is Surf, Thunder, Psychic, and Power Gem. It almost did a clean sweep through all the teams before the tower tycoon.

I like that the new games will give it a fresh no old pokemon start. It will be fun learning new strategies and figuring out the types of the new ones. I've specifically not been looking types of the new pokemon.

Coming into Diamond, I remember since there were some old ones mixed in even in the beginning of the game, it wasn't much of a challenge because I knew how to handle them.
I know they will be replaced by new annoying pokemon, but I'm glad that I won't be seeing zubats and geodudes over and over again.

Of course it did, it was never going to get any less, same way the Expendables was always going to be a box office hit in the western world. There are certain things some cultures just can't get enough of. Not really a fan myself. But each generation always adds some cool new elements so I like what Nintendo have been doing with it, just not the kinda games I can get into.
I like how even though you aren't a fan that you can see that the games do change with each generation.

I laugh at people that say that it's the same game over and over again. Yes it is relatively the same story and goals over again, but there have been many many changes.

The changes made from Gen 2 and up:

Edition of Dark and Steel types
Pokemon holding healing or power up items.
Pokemon Natures
Pokemon Special Abilities
Double battles
Separations making some moves physical and some moves special
The ability to effect what stats on your pokemon become better by training them against certain pokemon(Golbats are annoying but if you want to raise the speed stat on your critters, annihilate as many Golbats as you can.)

The people that say the games haven't changed, either haven't played the new games or play them but don't get in depth while they play them.

1. Why is Team Plasma so lame? What's with those costumes, am I suppose to scared?

2. After seeing what DQIX was able to accomplish I really do expect a major upgrade in the next installment. Those little sprites won't do anymore. Pokemon could be epic, but Nintendo either doesn't want to or isn't imaginative enough to change up the formula.

3. Smugleaf fo life, yo.
1) Its hard to keep making bad guys. I mean, you had rocket, who wanted to steal. Magma/aqua who wanted to make the world more land/water based respectively, and team galatic who wanted to rule space and time. WHere really can you go?

2) one of the joys is pokemon's simplicity. Sprite motions take up space, and the more space they use to make the lands or new pokemon, or even all the little things they added is more improtant to me then making the little pokemon more real looking. Besides, its a DS, petitions for a console game if you want better looking pokemon (though we've seen from that farm game/XD/colosseum that that wont change anyhting).

3) Says the person with the oshawott avy? X3

1. You're not supposed to be scared. Not at all. Thats actually the opposite of their goals.

2. No comment.

3. Agreed.

Thing is, we'll just get tired of whatever pokemon we see instead, lol. I can't think of what my SS team was when I beat the E4 or Red because I've been switching back and forth from Pearl to SS. Knowing that I can only trade my pokemon over once to Black is gonna be a tough thing to do. I mean, who to leave and who to trade? It'll be a sad day when the family is split up :(

Or at least attack and receive damage animations for the characters battle scenes I mean come on how hard is that?
Pretty Damn hard actually. Although that depends on what, precisely you mean by this.

Every attack already has specific hit animations, but if you mean specific attack and hit animations for every move for every pokemon?

Well, you do the math.

Assuming you don't need to see contact between the two pokemon, it still means accounting for a hit animation for every possible move for each pokemon.

(that's about 150 x 300 or so, or worse, 500+ x 300 if all the old pokemon are involved)
Then you need an an attack animation for each pokemon for each attack.
That's something like 3000 animation sequences at the very least.

That level of animation is worse than trying to draw an animated feature film... And that already takes hundreds of people several years to do.

Unless you just meant more elaborate hit and attack animations...
Well seeing that pokemon is a franchise that makes incredible amounts of money I would think no feat would be impossible but it doesn't have to be a detailed reaction. Dragon quest monsters joker has attack and taking attack animation. every creature has at least four or so animations that pretty much express when it's trying to attack taking a hit or something in between.
So does pokemon. It's just not very elaborate.

But in any event, one thing worth remembering is that if 3d models are used, it's usually a lot easier to do large numbers of animations than with sprites.

I don't know if you've ever played pokemon stadium, but it has far more elaborate attack and defense animations than ANY of the main pokemon games.

So ultimately, if the game were to move to entirely 3d graphics you might see better animation.

Also, it doesn't matter how successful a game series is, that doesn't mean you can devote infinite resources to it. But that's another matter.
