Firstly, I'd fix everything they fucked up in 4th gen. Fix the contests, secret bases, Special/Physical attack system, and use the bottom screen for something more than that stupid friggin watch.
I have to ask, what is wrong with the current physical/special split? It seems perfectly logical to leave it the way it is.

Hmm. This is very interesting. As for me, my main change would be story, playing the same young trainer with a hat who becomes a legend is getting real dull. I think I may have a storyline in mind, however, this was mainly from my own game proposition so ignore the title:

Pokemon Amehyst Version- Cover Pokemon: Mewtwo (Plays a big role in story)

Story: You (either boy or girl version) are in a convoy on the way to a small town as a member of Team Rocket. Apparently a renegade legendary pokemon (You could probably guess who at this point) has been spotted within the caves of this town and your mission is to recapture by any means necessary. As you fill out your confirmation forms revealing your name and gender, you are then asked to choose your mission pokemon (Basically your 'starter') from either a Fighting type, a Psychic type, or a Dark type. The mission within the cave serves as the small tutorial of basic mechanics. Long story short, you and your two remaining teammates ( a boy and girl) make a devastating choice that affects the whole town to ruin, all for the sake of reaching the legendary. You confront it, but with your level 2 starter and the teammates' other weak pokemon against a level 45 legendary, things don't go as planned. Amongst all the chaos within, you black-out.
You wake up to a house in a small town and find a package by your side. The note introduces it's writer to Mr. P and according to the note, it has been one year since the incident and the town is still an isolated ruin. But since then, strange things have been happening to the world all starting with the scattering of 16 medallions amongst the sky. Mr. P proposes that the only way to make things normal again is to find all 16 of these medallions. The package contains the first one to show you what it looks which has engraving on it that looks like Mew.
Considering that you lost your original starter pokemon from the incident, you have to now choose another one from the lab in the town (This one being Grass-Fire-Water). After which, your journey officially begins.

Important Parts: In your journey you come across one of your teammates from before (Either the boy or girl depends on the opposite gender you chose). They quit Team Rocket and found a new group of Pokemon Rangers, and their goal is to redeem mankind and liberate all Pokemon from human influence (Though considering them being Pokemon trainers and rangers, that's really quite hypocritical). They ask you to join them and think about it. In another incident, you across the other teammate from before. He is still in Team Rocket and asks you to 'come back to the good ol' days' and think about it. Now the theme of the game is moral choice so the choice to whether rise the ranks of Team Rocket and use pokemon as tools or to join this new Liberation front and get rid of Pokemon help altogether (Basically pokemon 'hippies') is up to you.

As for these new medallions, these serve as the gym badges of the game, each engraved with a legendary pokemon in the series. The basis of most of the missions given from either TR HQ or PL HQ is to retrieve these medallions from their hidden shrines. The medallions are guarded by spirits of ancestors and they test you aka Gym Battle.
However, the theme of the game is Moral Choice. The choices you make in the game change the world within, from which towns are occupied by whom, which pokemon are available in your game, and what medallions you are able to retrieve. For example, you choose a mission to either twart Team Magma or Team Aqua from getting to the medallion first. The mission you chose makes you either fight the Ground type ' gym leader' to retrieve the Groundon engraved medal, or the Water-type 'gym leader to retrieve the Kyorgre engraved medal. So in essence you'll only obtain 8 medallions in the story.
There would be appearances from Jesse+James, Silver among others, including one girl you meet in the beginning who becomes a 'very important' character throughout the game, but I can't go any deeper into my story without some spoilers.

Features: Besides the moral choice theme, the game will also have an Alternate Way to Catch Pokemon. Unnamed at this point, this method is easier than pokeballs, but the captured pokemon is automatically disloyal to you at first no matter how many medals you've obtained. Another feature is customizable trainers. Along with cosmetic changes from clothes, trainers can now become specialized in a certain type and boost stats from that corresponding type.

And that's my Pokemon proposition, what do you guys think?

I think that you're a GENIUS! I would, however, suggest a 'neutral' option, wherein you don't join either side, but have to compete with both.

"Bows" Also would your alternate form of Pokemon caching be like the Snag Machine in Colosseum?

You see, I've been playing pokemon since Red and Blue, so I've had it drilled into my skull that certain types are special attacks (Electric, Fire, Water, exc), and some are physical (Fighting, Normal, Flying, exc.) However, after playing through three generations, a few stadiums, a Colosseum, and a Rescue Team of this mechanic, they suddenly decide to change it.
What.
The.
Fuck.
Now it depends on that ATTACK. Oh, fan-friggin-tastic. So, you're telling me that now a bit that surges electricity through your body will now receive its damage based on the bite? Not the whole electricity thing?
I don't know, for people just entering the series maybe it makes more sense, but it just confuses the hell out of me.

Know what they shouldnt do? Increase the number of moves from 4. Any more than that is a retarded idea. What they should do? Incrase the length of the story mode. But with the MMO-ness from B&W seen so far, I dont think that will be a problem.

I would like to see an action-based battle system where the moves still have tactical value.
Here are some examples:

Mist: Affects the entire room, making both combatants hard to see (But they would still be visible somehow, like light shimmering on sci-fi cloaking devices)

Razer Leaf: Weak, but seeks the target.

Trick Room: Switches the speeds of the two combatants (Ex. Bronzong vs Grovile, Bronzong would suddenly move fast, and Grovile would move slow as hell)

Light Screen: A flat wall that blocks special attacks completely, but can be walked through. More powerful attacks can break the screen with reduced damage.

Extreme criticism in 3... 2... 1...

P.S. @Justin Credble: Love your ideas, although, I admit the whole "16 legendary medallions" thing sounds the tiniest bit cliche [X(number) Legendary Ys(items)], although it does add a goal to the game.

I;d like to see some more physical fire moves for flareon. and a new eevee evolution.
Both good ideas. Most fire-type moves are Special, and yet most fire-type Pokemon have heavy Physical Attack! As for new eeveelutions, I've always wanted a Ghost type and a Steel type. And for them to give Umbreon less crappy attack stats!

Well, i was thinking mainly for Flareon, a big part of my team planning. I mean, when you have to use fire fang and iron tail as your heavy physical attacks, something is wrong.

And i dont know about umbreon. it plays its role well. its there to wall, which it does exceptionally well. I would just give it a better attack stat and see if it could learn aerial ace for those fighting types.

They need to get rid of all previous pokemon. Seriously, the thing I enjoyed about the first couple of games was the discovery of all new species. Take me out of my comfort zone dammit!

Yes, but then you need to fill the niche they leave. like pidgey. Oka, you take him out, your early flying type is hoothoot. and lets face it, hoothoot was AWFUL! though the concept was good.

If it doenst do this already (cause i never noticed if it did), I'd like to have dark attacks be more powerful at night, and have moves that rely on sunlight like solarbeam take two turns. But thats just me. Also, sunny day should weaken dark attacks. just think about it.

I may not have read that right but Solarbeam has always taken 2 turns, or 1 if Sunny Day is up. A lot of people have been talking about Dark Type and I have to say I want it fleshed out more. I still have to quickly check whenever it comes up what exactly it's good against. And tbh 90% of the moves suck pretty hard with 10% being super powerful. I like Steel type because it's obvious it's resistant to most things but Dark type never seems to have caught on.
However as this is Pokemon Black and White perhaps we will see a Dark legendary and I think the first pokemon they released is a dark pokemon.

No, thats a dragon. and actually, they're thinking of making it a dragon/electric and the white one a dragon/fire. htough that may not be final, I heard that was rumor.

and yeah, I should have phrased that better, but i meant it should take three turns. make it take an extra turn, becuase its F****ng DARK outside! believe me, people always seem to miss why i say this even though when i ask them the defination they say the sun has gone away and solar means sun.

http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/pokemon.shtml the last two, beucase i think thats wat your talking about is the last one. even though when you read it, its... well, it doenst make sense. if they are opposite, one should be dragon/fire and the other dragon/water

Well that kind of sucks, I suppose those are some cool types for main legendaries but I think they missed an opportunity. Some cool pokemon too, electric zebra? Sooweeet.
3 Turns would make solar beam shit. It's already kind of lame compared to Fire Blast and Hydro Pump which rest after rather than charge before and I'm pretty sure it's 120 opposed to 150. It's only saving grace is high PP for its calibre. It's a case where mechanics beat immersion to make it usable.

Yes. But thats what i'm saying. Its DARK! Solar cells dont collect (and if they do its not nearly as much) in the dark. SO same concept. it would be something new and nice to mess with the minds of others. Also, you;re confusing attacks. Hydro Pump/Fire Blast have 120 dmg with 70 acc. waht you're thinking of is Hydro Cannon/Blast Burn that do 150 dmg with... i dont know acc. yes, I'm a nerd, but thats me. and yeah, tehy do look nice, but I agree, they did miss a chance. Besides, its getting tiring to see Dragon Legendaries. make something unlikely legendary that have to share the box art. Make... I dontknow... Make a poison one. Or a bug one. or... well... well those options suck but you know what i mean. Do something fresh!

Oh, and either give us the shoes right out or the bike, becuase i hate having to walk like I'm holding someone;s hand when i can run five minutes later. Though I hope tehy keep the auto run option, cause i'm goign to be P****D if i have to go back to holding B, (or whatever button it is for the format you use)

I too have been around since gen 1 and it wasn't much of a leap to accept the new split seeing as hopw it does seem to have a tad more common sense to it, like a punch=physical and beams=special it also always bugged me that crunch was a special type move.

You don't need a joystick to move diagonally, plenty other games do it. A shining example would be Golden Sun, and that was on GBA.

Speaking of which, when does Golden Sun DS come out? D:

Having just consulted my new copy of ONM, I don't know. But I believe the current target is christmas this year.

And the official title is now Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.

Oooh, I see...well as long as they don't go flip flopping the name a million times...and it doesn't suck... X:

Scrap the designs for the new starter Pokemon and let the fans draw them. At Least they did a better job.
