Like most, I too hate the whole concept of HMs and wish that they would be excluded from future games in the series, not that I think it's likely.
Certain pokemon should be able to use the HM moves without being taught them, once you reach a certain point in the game of course.
This would mean you'd still have to have a varied party, but wouldn't require you to waste a move slot on a useless attack like rock-smash.
And yes, some more creative pokemon would be nice, so far very few of the Black and white pokemone have caught my attention.

You see, I've been playing pokemon since Red and Blue, so I've had it drilled into my skull that certain types are special attacks (Electric, Fire, Water, exc), and some are physical (Fighting, Normal, Flying, exc.) However, after playing through three generations, a few stadiums, a Colosseum, and a Rescue Team of this mechanic, they suddenly decide to change it.
What.
The.
Fuck.
Now it depends on that ATTACK. Oh, fan-friggin-tastic. So, you're telling me that now a bit that surges electricity through your body will now receive its damage based on the bite? Not the whole electricity thing?
I don't know, for people just entering the series maybe it makes more sense, but it just confuses the hell out of me.
I too have been around since gen 1 and it wasn't much of a leap to accept the new split seeing as hopw it does seem to have a tad more common sense to it, like a punch=physical and beams=special it also always bugged me that crunch was a special type move.
Well, if that punch is englufed in flames, I think you're counting on the flames more than the punch.
Yeah, there have been a few annoying cases like Crunch, but now there are a million annoying cases. Oh, and rather than just TELL you which moves are for which stat, they have these little symbols that you have to figure out because the game never tells you what they mean! What the hell is wrong with just putting a box for text that says "PHYSICAL" or "SPECIAL"?

And would it kill them to add a pure flying type? Flying/Normal bugs me for some reason.
From what I understand, this won't be done, because of the move "Roost". When a Pokemon uses this move, it will lose that typing for a turn, and that would likely screw with the game. That's what I've heard anyway. There's likely a way to program around it, but I doubt that'll happen.

OT: The only real change needs to come with the HMs. Make them just like items, please.

I think it's more for resistances, think about it all flying attacks are really just normal attacks but with wings or a beak involved. But they can't have ridiculously similar types like flying and normal should be. A bird like a pidgey (the most basic flying type) is essentially normal in that it should be immune to ghost and all that good stuff.
What I'm saying is that flying is a type they add when something has wings so it can use flying attacks and be more vulnerable to electricity and not affected by ground and such. Of course there are a few instances like Scyther I believe that mess with this but a pur eflying type would be essentially a pidgey and pidgey should have the same resistances a normal type has.

I thought abotu it, and the thing i'd like to see most is a more instant egg hatching. it takes so long for the egg to happen, then longer for it to hatch, and it takes up a slot in your party, only to then give you a lv 1 pokemon. so if you are in a battle, and for some reason its a lv 46 pokemon aginst your newly hatched egg, well, its over.

I forgot about hatching, I'd love to see more incentive to breed pokemon for stats and abilities. I have to draw on playing Sonic Adventure, it's lame as hell but I loved breeding chao in that game. I think making breeding have more influence on the pokemon born would increase the play time and make it worth playing after.
Also the battle Colosseums need to give experience. I never do them because I simply don't feel like there is any real reward.

I dontknow. I think the way they id it in diamond/pearl/platinum gave insentive. it was nice to get items for battle points, and it was kinda fun to see how well you could predict 50 or 100 matches.

Well I want all the cool pokemon to be added to the plot so we can catch them. And by cool I mean Deoxous (spelled wrong?) and Celeibe (spelled wrong?" without getting yelled at for using a action replay.

A: You can get Celeibe in game and in the plot (at least in the original G/S/C) but you had to go to some special event.

and B:"Cool" is a bit of a broad term. For insistence, I think Cyndaquil is a cool Pokemon (my favorite actually.) and you can get it in game and with the plot.

It's been said: I want to catch the starter Pokemon outside of the lab and/or be granted the ability to choose any of the Pokemon for my starter. The easy way to do this is cycle through them all through a silhouette of a Pokemon coming to your rescue.

Example:

Your father - or mother, I couldn't give a damn - is a Professor and you're his - or her - assistant on a research project.
Suddenly you hear a rumble from a bush and a Pokemon leaps out at you and chases you to a cliff wall.
"You're backed into a corner. The Pokemon before you is ready to attack!"
"Out of the corner of your eye you notice another Pokemon coming in your direction... what does it look like?"
Silhouette of Pokemon show up here.
Select and it highlights that particular Pokemon showing its appearance.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes" or "No".
If "No" you go back to cycling till you see one you like.
If "Yes" you hear the cry of the Pokemon as it charges in front of you and is ready to fend off the offending Pokemon.
A battle commences and you battle with your newfound partner.

Eventually your parent professor comes along and notices that you have a new friend, you decide then to become a Pokemon Trainer and set off on crazy adventures with an already completed Pokedex because that was a feature I never enjoyed in any of the Pokemon games ever. And yes, your parent professor is the worst parent ever in a Pokemon game for not even realising you almost got yourself killed, but that adds for awesome characterization.

You mean like a wrist attachment that you can access via the touch screen and selecting what you want to use against that particular tree or boulder? Or do you mean different Key Items that do that particular purpose such as a chainsaw, raft, shotgun, etc.?

EDIT: And this is probably nitpicky... but here goes.

I also want to be able to just freaking unlock all legendaries after beating the game to continue storylines. I do not want to have to go to an event, I do not want to hear that the item that unlocks it is a Japanese Exclusive and I do not want to just be given it... I want to go through a story - no matter how small - to obtain it so I can feel that I earned it.

Just open up some kind of WiFi shop thing and let us download it. I know the 3DS can handle that - suspect this Black and White is meant for it - because the DSi can, I just don't know if Nintendo is going to be smart enough and have the games run off of the handheld console's hardware to access WiFi so I don't have to go through with a WEP Encryption just for this one game due to lazy or incompetent programming - possibly assembly of the cartridge - on their part.

Thank you.

Preferably, Key Items that accomplish the same function as HMs.

I think that they should
A: allow you to start in Kanto and work your way to the newest place
B: allow your starter to be ANY 1st level non-legendary pokemon
I Love the idea Of choosing your starter, especially as the games often encourage you to evolve your starter Pokemon as your best. But I always ditch my starter and go for my own team 'cause I never liked the small choice I was given

Also, i highly doubt nintendo would bother to make such a big map.

OMG even better would be to have an even more RPG aspect where your failures have negative impacts and you dont just restart to before the event. like when you white out your pokemons stats go down? Com'on guys i'm just brainstorming here?

Line all the creators of every pokemon game except red/blue and gold/silver. Blow there brains out with a shotgun. Destroy all the other games. Make the orgional creators just combine them with new graphics all the old good stuff and then kill them so no more pokemon games can be made

Hmmm I always hate that tbh, Guild Wars has instilled into me the idea that losing or dying really is punishment enough. I get it mechanically though, like a pokemon's confidence has gone down.
Maybe there could be a temporary negative percentage to all pokemon used in battle as like the Trainer has lost confidence but gets it back.
Really though I save before any major battle and rarely keep playing after whiting out, just reload.
