more new pokemon means more choice which means more indivuality between trainers, so with that logic how is it a bad idea, they keep give the fans what they want so i say yes.
P.S. the only thing i can say is that they should bring out a pokemon game on the WII that th story plays like the DS version. Not like Battle revalution.

I'm going to get it because it looks fun. See, I don't understand what makes Pokemon purists hate the new games so much. They are literally the same games as the old one with slightly worse designs and slightly new gameplay. It looks like a... well a new game.

I have around 456 of them so far, and by the time I'm done with Soulsilver the only ones left will be Deoxys, Celebi, Arceus, and Mew. And Celebi and Arceus will probably be given away soon. Also, I've never used cheats.
OT: Collecting them is one of the main things about this series I like. The more there are the longer I stay entertained.

Also, on OP's grounds that they're only in it for the money: Duh. Nintendo and Game Freak are companies; making money is they're primary goal. To say that they're in it for the money is akin to saying that the sky is blue, fish swim, and Growlithe is completely adorable. To which I say "who cares, as long as each Pokemon game actually refines the mechanics to a science?" They've done so so far with the past three gens, and I'm excited to see what's going to be tweaked in Black/White.
Besides, there's inevitably going to be (a) Pokemon I want in the fifth gen, like Gardevoir in the third and Lucario/Piplup in the fourth.

I stopped playing Pokemon at Crystal, and didn't play generation 3; which is the most different of all the various generations. Weirdest Pokemon yet and the rival didn't choose his starter from the same three you picked from. Then I borrowed my friend's Diamond, and I fell back in love, and this is why: Pokemon felt like Pokemon again.
I didn't know all 492 Pokemon now. When I walk though the tall grass, and I have a random encounter, I didn't know what was going to show up. I didn't know exactly what the thing I was fighting was.
When SoulSilver came out, I defiantly bought that; since it was huge nostalgia attack, but under the rose-colored dust of fond memories, is a very solid game.
One thing I noticed while playing SoulSilver and Platinum (Which I hope they fix in Black/White) is all the vestigial text and features. A lot of it is kept for nostalgia, but it's so clunky, that I think it needs to be re-thought. The dialogue with the nurse at the Pokemon Center, the frustrating PC system, etc. I just got a DSiXL, and I'm glad I did, because while Diamond/Pearl/Platinum were on the DS, they didn't make use of the touch screen as much. HeartGold and SoulSilver really take advantage of the touch screen.
As for Black and White, It looks pretty different that what's come before; I'll probably pick one of them up, but I'll wait and see what becomes of it.

Each Pokemon game improves on the previous, so the fifth generation looks pretty good right now. I will also admit to liking each successive generation of Pokemon at least as much as the first, if not more. I will never understand this bizarre hatred of the newer games (unless it's just nostalgia- "well, the first time they remade the game and added 100 new characters, it was awesome, but remaking the game and adding 100 new characters is now a travesty!").

I probably will buy Black/White, but the thing that annoys me the most is how quickly after the release of HG/SS it was announced. Do we really need so many Pokemon games on the DS? I just beat the last gym in Kanto on my SoulSilver game a few days ago, and I'm not too sure, but I don't think I even beat the Elite 4 in Platinum before I had other shit to do and eventually abandoned it for SoulSilver. That may reflect badly on my dedication to the game or something, but whatever; I still consider myself a dedicated Pokemon fan.

Like ive said, im waiting for the new starters to come out before i chose to buy this, i couldent play plat because i hated the starters.
I don't know man... I've only had gold and silver for a monuth and.... I don't know. But the idea of a re-design of the interface and how you play the game sounds nice. But the only reason I might get it if they have a new Eevee evloution or you can take direct control of pokemon during a pokemon battle.
