I wish I could play it, but sadly I have no DS *sad face*

But I saw that rumored list of new Pokemon. While it seems false, I just hope they don't look as dull and plain as that list was.

Incidentally, Black & white version ARE of the first few generations. However, they were only released in the area around Japan. My cousin owns the ORIGINAL Black version and I have the ORIGINAL Green version, Japanese and all.

Still, I intend to get the new recreations, out of curiosity and a lingering hope of nostalgia.

I doubt this will be the final generation.

The games are cash cows. People of all ages buy them without question.

Pokemon games will outlive everyone on this forum.

Stopped buying/playing pokémon with Sapphire, new pokémon can screw off alhough I am quite partial to the slightly 3D effect the games have now.

If they released a game which had all of the different regions in it, with all 2000 pokémon (or however many it is now) we'd be in business, I'd buy a DS purely to get it.

Til then tho, screw that!

I think it is funny...my little brother sent the Pokemon company a letter about two years ago saying he loved there games and should make a pokemon game called pokemon black & white...they sent a letter back saying thanks for liking our games but now that you have talked about making a pokemon game called pokemon black and pokemon white we can not make it...yeah ha

I will admit that some of the pokemon look retarded, but there's already a thread for that. I actually like the look of some of the new ones. I got heartgold but havent played much of it. But, as soon as I got HeartGold I thought "why not black and white?" then I heard about it and Black's my favourite colour, hopefully that may mean some focus on dark types or a dark legendary. I dont know, but I'm probably gunna get it.

EDIT: my predictions for the third in this generation: Grey, Transparent and Rainbow!

[And Pokemon is the only series I've seen where people complain about the game being expanded without drastically changing the core gameplay.
This made me laugh, I never really noticed it until you brought it up. Have a cookie.

Nah, I'm not gonna buy any more games not because of the amount of Pokemon (any franchise has to evolve and progress; how boring would it be to keep rehashing old pokemon for a zillion games?), but because they're starting to become seriously lacking in any gameplay. It's very stilted and there's little motivation to carry on playing after you've defeated Team Rocket/Team What's It's Face (in all the other games) and there's no NEW gameplay aspects added.

The new games, although the graphics are slightly better (hey, it's only a DS, they're never gonna be great) but it still seems very lazy...like a half finished game that they just mass produced to make some money. So I agree with you, they're all for the cash, but they could be giving us SOME value for money. I mean, the new ones (HeartGold and SoulSilver) cover TWO islands, Johto and Kanto (right?), but...I mean, I've done the League 20 times or something and only racked up 40 hours. Yet...in Platinum, which covers one island, I've got about 80 hours on it (sad, I know). See what I mean? No value for money. And the pokewalker is SHIT. What a waste of £30. I have an M3Real and I STILL bought it. Why? WHY?!

I'm recently in a pokemon rediscovering, thanks to a friend of mine convincing me to rent HeartGold from gamefly...

To say the least, I'm remembering why I like this game. To say the most, HG/SS has given the players more to do than 'ever' and cutting the unnecessary fat from other games. I'd like to say especially, it's convenient now that the Nat Dex is capable of being gained upon completion of the Elite Four.

And concerning the event only legendaries these days, believe it or not there ARE still legitimate ones, it's just a matter of FINDING those legitimate legendaries. Hell, I just got a Deoxys from a gamestop event from a couple years ago this past saturday just because I helped out some hardcore player transfer his Platinum team to SoulSilver.

Concerning Black/White, I'd say there are a couple factors that need to be met... At least one of them:
-Good/Simple/Singular typed starters... Or at the least, Gen III decent. Gen IV's starters, Piplup the only exclusion, were HORRIBLE, especially Chimchar.
-Fixing the level gain, because the fact that traded pokemon level TWICE AS FAST makes it feel POINTLESS to level anything you catch yourself. Why bother leveling an Onix you caught yourself that will take a 2 trainer fights, each with 4 pokemon, to level up when an Onix you got from a friend could level up in one fight, potentially on only 2 out of the four pokemon?!
-Detailed stat system guide within the game, I shouldn't have to hunt around on the net for these stupid guides about EV's, the pokerus and more. The Pokedex needs to get some kind of a fucking datalog or library already!
-And lastly, MAKING USE OF ELEMENTS FROM ANY/ALL MAIN SERIES POKEMON GAMES. I'm tired of things like apricorns, berries, contests and every single other solitary thing being forgotten about in the next game, SPECIFICALLY APRICORNS. It was one of the greatest things that came from Gen II and it took, what, 8 years or so for it finally to return IN THE DAMN REMAKES?! Stop abandoning old ideas that WORK. ...Except for some of those useless HM's that just use up a pokemon's move sets.

I've come to peace with the fact that the main series itself... Will never get a 'real time combat' iteration, it's probably 'never' going to happen. As awesome as it would be personally controlling a pokemon and stringing together their attacks in combo moves and special finisher skills, it's a bit too much work I'd assume...

I don't care, I'm going to play the new one. I find pokemon fun and that's really all that matters. Even if their ruinning the series, I'll play till it's burning spectacular crash.

The only real thing that they should change, is that HM moves are actually good, and that we'll WANT to use them.
