it needs some fucking innovation. the franchise litterally hasn't changed its gameplay one bit since red/blue, even the graphics look virtually the same and its been a long time (3D my ass).

but I guess thats the nintendo way these days...
See, you say that, but you're wrong. The gameplay has changed, a lot. But you'd need to care for it to be worth going in to.
I played red/blue gold/silver ruby/saphire and then fire red... those all played EXACTLY the same. the new ones look EXACTLY the same...
Hehe. Caps. Nice.
You obviously don't battle seriously then. Do you know how EVs work? IVs? The various natures, the ability to breed moves into pokemon, new in-battle combos...

the thing about the first pokemon like red and blue was that they were simple. plain and simple. no like eight compartments in the item bag and no animation for the pokemon. and the attacks were played out over elaborately. and there werent 900 pokemon just 150. it just had a certain swagger to it. its indescribable
I agree. It needs to be simplified again. They tried to make it all shiny and it just made it complicated. Then they added in a billion Pokemon which I know put me off due to the need for checking to see if they were worth catching.

The original 151 pokemon were some of the greatest concepts in gaming history. We've seen what happens when a franchise gets milked for all it's worth, and now it's impossible to take the game seriously anymore. I agree with F-E: The other... 300 or so need to be forgotten. Of all of them, the only one I'll remember is Tyranitar.

Some film company to go 'Hey look, that was once popular with the kids, we should turn it into a live action movie!' complete with bad acting for the humans and dodgy CG for the pokemon...

I got another one. How about some normal animals/insects?
I never see any rats, yet Rattata is a Rat Pokemon.
Are we to believe that 95% of the meat diet in the world is nonexistent?
No you're to believe that the rest of the creatures in the world don't really matter when your playing a POKEMON game about raising POKEMON. why would you raise a DOG when you can raise a dog that's on FIRE.
The world is cruel...

I actually like the compartments, in red/blue the item bag would fill up quite quickly, at least it did for me. The compartments prevent this.

I dunno, I love Pokemon but at the same time I'm kind of over it in a sense, you know? Diamond really didn't do it for me, and not because of the belief that all new Pokemon suck (some of them are ridiculous, but not all). There was just something about it that didn't make me want to play it like the previous games did. Maybe it was the fact that the starters were lame as hell. I mean come on, a fire monkey? That's just stupid.

Like I said, I love Pokemon but I wouldn't be devastated if another game never came out. They're beating a dead horse at this point.
it would be sad if pokemon died
Yeah, kind of, but I'd rather it die with dignity than be milked for money more than it already has.

Which is why they should release an EPIC game, even more EPIC than Pokemon Snap or Hey You, Pikachu!
It should be a first person platformer.
Any Pokemon chosen for battle are controlled in first person, with real-time strategy.
Your main character has stats as well.
Pokemon require sleep and food as well as your character.
Stores are not all open 24/7
Officer Jenny DOES make an appearance.
If you have a flying Pokemon, it can fly and divebomb the enemy.
All attacks are learned through training or as custom crafted moves, not by leveling up.
Leveling up only increases stats.
Buttons are assigned to attacks in the Pokemon's stats menu.
Combos are possible.
The Start button (for PS systems) will give you the option of recalling the Pokemon, using items and/or leaving the fight.
There will be an actual bartering system, not a mysterious reason for receiving money after battles.
If you lose a battle, you don't faint like a little sissy. You pay up and walk away.
For 2v2 battles, you can play split-screen with a friend, or set an AI for the other Pokemon.
If you have an AI Pokemon, you can set a list of orders; go here, shoot here, eat pie here, ect...
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: If you find a Pokemon in the wild, you can avoid it, run from it or attack it (as you send out Pokemon with a button)
For your information, I do not own either of the before mentioned games, but a friend of mine does. And these games were my treats for when we visited my grandparents in the USA on holidays.

What about a GTA pokemans MMO think about it u start out with one low level & low evolved pokeman (mine would be growlithe) you choose a random starting location and then its up to you to do what the hell you want you dont even have to beat the Gyms if you dont want to and the pokeman leuage is optional and lets say you wanna join teamrocket you can and youll do missions for them ;like stealing pokeman using your pokeman to break into to places etc...

THAT WOULD BE A SICK ASS POKEMAN GAME! imho

I am and always will be a firm believer thier are only 151 pokemon (If you count Mewtwo) but if they are going to continue insisting that there are more they should at least put [b/]all[/b] of them new and old in, seriously, when was the last time I caught a Beedrill or whatever it's called.
That is so true. Beedrill was awesome

1. A genocide against every race of Pokemon beyond 151.
I'll be damned before I let you or Nintendo touch my Luxray.
I challenge you, to a game of Pokemon. I'll use my Alakazam, Charizard, Golem, Hitmonchan, Pikachu, and Polywhirl, and you use your new-gen Pokemon.

I will fucking awesomely destroy you.
Okay! Tyranitar, Infernape, Lucario, Floatzel, Garchomp, Luxray.

You lead with Ala who is psychic, Psychic does nothing to dark and because the elemental punches use physical instead of special Alakazam can't do any real damage. Only thing you can switch to is Hitmonchan who will more than likely fall to Tyranitar.

Charizard loses to Tyranitar, Floatzel, Garchomp and Luxray.

Golem loses to Infernape, Lucatio, Floatzel and Garchomp.

Hitmonchan loes to Garchomp at LEAST. the fact my entire party over powers it is another story.

Pikach- AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Ooohh sorry I thought that was a joke.

Poliwhirl? considering it's a second stage not even a Poliwrath or Politoed any of my party could beat it.

Of all the pokemon to pick from he first gen you chose 5 pathetic excuses to exist and alakazam.

No Gyarados? No Snorlax? dude... sucks.

Heehee. You take things a little too seriously, my friend. Can't I fight with a few of my favorite Pokemon in place of those that are "ubar"? You also seem to forget a key thing about Pokemon;

You can switch Pokemon as much as you like while incurring no penalties whatsoever.

And I didn't even build a move list. If you'll notice, most of my chosen Pokemon are fast. as. fuck. Build that into the fact that most of them can learn different elemental attacks and your ass is toasted.

Hitmonchan? Taken out by whom, exactly? He's fighting type; weak against only psychic and (if I'm not mistaken) earth attacks. He can learn Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, and good ol' Mega Punch. If I'm not mistaken, one of those four attacks is more than likely going to seriously damage you.

Polywhirl, Polywrath, I haven't played the game in six years, and you assault me for that? I meant Polywrath. Hypnosis, Screech a few times, switch to another Pokemon and throw you into the floor.

Tech choice is far more important in the land of t3h Pokeman's, my friend.

I think it'd be nice if they changed the mechanics of breeding, IV and EV training more simple, like making some of those values visible and making it easier for newcomers.

I'd also like to see a bigger emphasis on story. Pokemon has always felt like a series that was too scared to take chances, since it already has a money-making formula that has never failed. I think it's time to start taking some chances.

My my. I've been beaten.

Oh well. I still enjoy the older Pokemon.

And I bet I could out-D&D you! *cries in a corner*
So do I, my usual party would have a Gyarados or Snorlax in it. But I was excluded from the original 151.

And yeah you probably could out D&D me- Wait which Ed.?
First edition. My favorite, if only because it's not so ridiculously complex that they have to have rules for how long alcohol recuperation takes.

I swear I saw it in the 3.5 DMG.
