Police issue official warning against "Pedobear"

Police in Tulsa, OK issued an official statement yesterday warning citizens about the internet meme "Pedobear", which is used as a reference to pedophilia. This follows a similar statement that recently circulated the internet warning that Pedobear is used by pedophiles to identify themselves to one another. The statement has been widely dismissed as a hoax, but the Tulsa Police Department still issued a statement about the meme warning that "his cute face and non-threatening appearance negate the truth of his sinister, much darker side".

It didn't happen to be at Animefest, did it? I saw a couple pedobears when I was there a few weeks ago. There were a bunch of people dressed as Vocaloids carameldansen-ing (don't know the verb form of that, sorry) and somebody dressed as pedobear poked his head out. It was pretty damn funny. I didn't get any pictures unfortunately.
