This seems to be a problem of poor parenting. Honestly if you cant control your child and it gets to the point where you have to call the police something is wrong.

Tasers shouldnt be used as a mothod of control as in you threaten to taser them if they dont comply, like if its used as a punishement. The taser in this case was used for gaining control not necisarraly asserting it.

A cornered animal doesn't necessarily get stronger, merely more dangerous. This could be strength or just the ferocity of having no way out and thus, nothing to lose.

Regardless of that, if he couldn't handle a ten year old who was cornered, how's he going to manage a "cornered" adult?
Meh, strength/dangerous same difference.

The cop would also not be limited to techniques that would harm a 10 year old girl with an adult. I wasn't there but I'm inclined to agree that tazing her was the best option in this situation if the girl refused to calm down... I would have thought this was done to stop her hirting herself more than anything.

Also I think someone mentioned earlier, it wasn't a high powered stun gun, it was little more than the kind of thing women use to fend off would-be attackers. It doesn't shoot out the barbs.

You do realise this is the cop who had to subdue her...

Yeah... Eat your words *****!

I rest my case...
That's no cop!
It's a space station! schoolgirl!
Somebody needs to go watch Star Wars again...

Anyway I found out that cops badge number and I've tracked down his boss. Maybe you should take it up with him...

I really wished I put the safe search on before I typed gay cop into the search bar...

If the mother had to call the police just to get her into the shower, there was probably something wrong with the girl. Borderline or ADHD or whatever, she obviously needs professional help.

Still, there's no excuse for tasering a 10-year old.
I believe every single one of us here can agree that either the mother or the daughter had extreme problems, but I disagree with you on the ADHD part. I have/had ADD and I never did something like that. I personally think she might have something far more severe, and perhaps even dangerous.
First of all, there's a reason that H is there. ADD and ADHD are two different things. Second, it's possible to have more severe or less severe cases of ADHD. Third, I never claimed that she did indeed have ADHD since I'm not a specialist. I said "borderline or ADHD or whatever", which should've been an indication that I was just guessing.

Bite me, I haven't seen it for years.
Then consider ones' self bitten... Nobody miss-quotes Star Wars on MY watch!

You see, this is why it's an idiotic idea that disciplining your kids was made illegal.

They are not dogs, where a stern voice makes them stop.

I think he made the right choice. If she sustained ANY injuries from the fiasco by the cop restraining her you can bet the headlines would be 'Cop breaks 10 yr old girls bones detaining her' Nevermind the fact she was kicking and thrashing and could have injured herself. With tasering, there is no excessive force question. It's just Tased or not tased. No trying to demostrate to an unsympathetic jury how hard you yanked her arm, how lightly you knocked the wind out of her, you just tased her. The effects are easy to find and she's not suffering from bruises and broken bones.
I'd like to see you guys take a hard kick to the groin. It was probably an upward moving kick as she's smaller. I'll provide a possesed 10yr old girl, you let her kick you in the balls and then try to subdue her without giving her ANY injuries.
I doubt most of you even know the effects of Tasers and how long they last.

I'm more worried about the fact that the mother called the police for basically a tantrum, sounds like a waste of police time to me. Added to the fact that kids these days can be right little bastards I don't blame the policeman for cutting out at least half an hour of arguing/fighting to solve it quickly.
This. Plus, the little antichrist'd just kicked him in the nuts. There's your justification right there!

Yes, what I find shocking is that this woman didn't have the stones to taser her own kid. What has it come to when a parent can't taser their own kid? All children are urchins, because it's true.

So to counter this her own mother called the police.
The mother should have her parenting license taken away.

When the police arrived, the girl's mother give one of the men permission to use his taser on the girl if he really needed to.
The mother should be arrested for being a stupid *****.

the police man couldn't restrain her. She even went as far as kicking him in the groin.
The police officer should be fired for being an incompetent fuck.
The girl should be arrested for assaulting an officer of the law (incompetent fuck though he is.)
Next.

It was at this point, the officer delivered a quick stun to her back by using his taser.
The police officer should be arrested for his complete fucking incompetence.
Then fired.

Done.
Actually Max, you will be pleased to know that the cop has been punished, but not because he taser a girl. Check out this link to find out what it was. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/6607761/Policeman-who-used-Taser-gun-to-subdue-10-year-old-girl-suspended.html

Sometimes children need to be put down when they step out of line like that.

If she got the idea that it's okay to assault a police officer, she's headed for some very serious trouble.

I commend the officer for this action.

Honestly? If I acted like that when I was 10 my mother would have BEAT THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF ME

The mother of that parent needs to start smackin' her kids more. Physical discipline is the best way to raise kids until they're teenagers, then you're meant to start taking away privelages. That's what my mother did.

Flat-out agreed several million times.

When I acted up when I was a little shit my dad would lay the hammer down, not literally but just as forceful, and for that I am a respectful, dutiful individual.

What I learned from this is when your parents or the police tell you to stand in line, you stand in line. Yours is not to question; only to act.

This girl will now give some very serious thought to how she acts the next time she meets a police officer.
