It's ok because she's Americans and American kids are dangerous.
Says the person with a 500 S&W revolver chamber as their avatar...
And I am an American so are we in agreement?
If I didn't also live here and thoroughly enjoy every bit of your people's strange yankie hoplophilia, I'd protest, but with things as they are...

AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!!!

hahahahhahaahahhahaahahahahaahaha... Pure gold. The news stories that come out of the USA are some of the most hilarious things in the world.

It was a bit much for the mother to call the police, but seeing as she was being unruly the office was perfectly in line to use the means to calm her down necessary

Then again, she is only ten, tazer is a bit much. If I was the cop, I would have left once I found out what the call was for.

People who can't manage their children shouldn't be allowed to have children. There should be some sort of test you need to pass before being fertile....

No - a ten year old girl does not need to be tasered. There are other ways of controlling a child. Seriously, these days, parents act like they are afraid of their own children. I was ten years old once, and I know what ten year old children are like - they are not scary or strong. Bringing them into line is not difficult.

Essentially this mother failed as a parent, raised unruly, undisciplined children, and is now using the police to control her own daughter. If she was even half-way close to being a decent parent she wouldn't have had to call the police at all.

Serves the little ***** right.

When I was her age, my mum would've beaten the hell out of me for throwing a tantrum over a shower.

If the life of a police officer is anything like SWAT 4 then police have the right to tazer anyone who even looks at them with a funny look.

Parenting is a two-way street. If the child is unresponsive, what the fuck is the parent suppose to do? Ground her? Hit her with a hose? Let the little psycho wreck the home?

I'm fairly interested in hearing the alternatives the mother had. Let the child win and lose more ground is clearly an option, as is beating the child herself. How would you deal with a ten year old throwing a violent tantrum in your home? Let's assume talking her down doesn't work (remember, she snapped over a shower), and she's throwing things and threatening you. Do you harm her to get her to stop? Slam her in her room where she could possibly self-harm? Let her continue the tantrum and be the genuinely spineless mess you are?

Or do you call the police to prevent further harm to both parties and give them permission to use whatever force necessary when things have clearly escalated?

Because God forbid they have to admit that sometimes children need to own up to their own behavior. Nothing better than white knighting a possibly dangerous child.

Yeah, yeah. Unless you've ever actually thrown a violent tantrum that scared your mother into calling the police, I suggest you keep your ten-year-old self locked in your memories as he is completely irrelevant to the current discussion.

If my kid is being a real pain in the ass, hell yeah, I'd leave them locked in the room.

And like I said, if she hurts herself, honestly, it's not my problem. If she falls off of the swings or burns herself on the stove, of course I'll help her out. But if she hurts herself during a fucking tantrum, hey, she did it on purpose, and [unless it's a lifethreatening injury] she has to deal with the consequences for herself.

Well seeing as how she was actually being taken in to custody and is being charged, they had every right to subdue her such that they could do their job. Someone's age should never give them special privileges.
Agreed. If you kick a cop in the crotch, that's assault. Period.

In that same respect, if a cop has to use a taser to get a 10-year-old to calm the fuck down, he/she probably isn't a very good cop, and shouldn't be the first one to respond to any reports of domestic violence.

Also, if a mom needs to call the cops to get her daughter to listen to her, she's probably not a good mom, and I don't blame the girl for showing her a blatant lack of respect.

First of all: what kind of retarded parents calls the police when their unruly child won't showe rand go to bed?

second of all: what kind of retarded police stations answers such a call.

and last but not least, how's an officer gonna be able to handle criminals if he/she cannot handle a 10 year old girl without tasing her.

This is indeed a victory for stupidity.
The Officer did not wish to accidently break her hands or arms when attempting to subdue her, which would be quite easy considering she is a 10 year old girls, electricity in a short burst is probably slightly safer. lol

So to counter this her own mother called the police.
The mother should have her parenting license taken away.

When the police arrived, the girl's mother give one of the men permission to use his taser on the girl if he really needed to.
The mother should be arrested for being a stupid *****.

the police man couldn't restrain her. She even went as far as kicking him in the groin.
The police officer should be fired for being an incompetent fuck.
The girl should be arrested for assaulting an officer of the law (incompetent fuck though he is.)
Next.

It was at this point, the officer delivered a quick stun to her back by using his taser.
The police officer should be arrested for his complete fucking incompetence.
Then fired.

Done.
The cop will not be fired, when you call the police how they act in restraining a criminal is the cop's disgression, plus the cop was incompetent, if the girl got ahold of a knife then the child would be a huge danger to everyone, and he also did not want to break her arm or hands with restraining her.

Any update on Ace_Of_Something? I would like to hear his take on this, as a police officer. I think the guy was screwed no matter what he did. If he restrained the child using his body, he would probably get just as much shit.

they will be taken down with all the force needed.
Yes.
And this was a ten year old girl.
What kind of police officer needs a stun gun to take down a ten year old girl?
those that fear hurting the girl.

an officer is ten fold more likely to dislocate arms, snap bones, or cause massive physical trama to a pre-teen individual. after all they are trained to over power and force into submission Grown Male Adults. the taser was more than likely the safest solution considering the circimstances.
Okay. the notion that a cop can't subdue a suspect without breaking arms is just stupid. yes, they're trained to subdue physically capable suspects, but their muscles aren't permanently in destructo-mode. i mean, they *are* capable of touching things without crushing them with their superhuman strength

more importantly, people have died after being tasered, so it's not that much safer than being forcibly subdued.

Saying it's a bit to much is like saying Jack Thompson is a bit of a loser. Anyway, any 10 year old girl who starts a one person riot and kicks a copper in the bollocks instantly earns my respect!
