American Escapist you buy games for about $60 we Aussies buy them for nearly Double.

at first i thought it was because of the American Dollar was greater but now the Aussie currency is about the same now.

Why should we have to pay $110 for a video game thats purely unfair and a dog act. Surely there has to be a solution that will make Aussie Games cheaper.

i understand the whole shipping cost even a 30 dollar decrease would make me feel a bit better.

But its purely unfair

That does indeed suck, but are you sure its shipping costs mixed with greed and not just your government taxing the hell out of certain products? In which case I'd speak with your elected representatives on how to bring down the prices of foreign goods (Yay free trade!)

Seriously though, I'd pay 110 dollars for some games. And actually, I have.

Those prices are almost as bad for your wallet as your poll options are for my brain! HIIIIIIIYOOOOOOOO

Yeah they probably should be cheaper, but that won't happen till at least the end of this generation (the next generation having a different pricing). There is something to say for the added cost of transporting the games to Australia, paying customs and whatnot, but it is definitely inflated because game companies assume you will pay it. Don't like the price? Don't buy. If Publisher X sees cheaper games sell better, they might be interested in reducing the prices of their games to maximize profitability.

They aren't going to change any time soon. As long as people keep buying they'll keep being expensive and people are always going to buy. Things being more expensive is just something we Aussies have to put up with it seems.

Translated to my currency such a game would cost 1/3 of average persons monthly income and some new games cost that much here ,no wonder everyone i know with an internet connection is a pirate. Shithouse!

Those prices are absolutely INSANE! In America you would only spend that much if it was like the uber nerdy collector edition

I notice when a game is first released here it's usually $120. After the first week it drops down to $100.

I find the pricing usually depends on where you buy it.

i dont mind paying 110 for a game if i get like 20+ hours of fun out of it. but when you buy a game that has like a 10 hour singleplayer campaign and that it you feel abit ripped off.

That's why I usually wait until a year or two after release or just shop on Steam. It's absolutely ridiculous, though.

It's almost as bad here in Canada, where we'll pay $70 for a game which costs $60 south of the border, especially when US's. I'm sorry, but there's no way there's $10 worth of shipping on there.

It's sad when I can order something for Amazon.com, pay for the exchange and shipping, and still have it be cheaper than buying domestic.

50 ? (£ 42 \ 67 USD & AUD)
For a new release in Finland. But:

35 ? (£ 29.4 \ 47.5 USD & AUD)
If you order them through Åland, because the taxation on that rather autonomous island is different. Some webstores allow to order from there.

Thats ridiculous. Here in the UK we can get a special edition for about £60! The internet is your buddy in this case, Ebay and Amazon are usually cheaper than in stores.
