What is with the sudden fascination with 3D? there are Films, Games, Television, i even saw a magazine advertising free 3D glasses to look at their 3D spread.
Half the films i have seen offering 3D look aweful, Avatar did it well but come on that doesnt mean every other film in production needs to be the same.
Personaly i prefair conventional 2D media, untill they perfect the whole experience or get bored with it, but untill then it looks like il have to put up with it all.

I still believe 3D was created by the porn industry. Other than that, if they can make it without the glasses I can see a potential client.

3D has never made a movie better in my eyes, I prefer one with no 3D. But then again, I didn't think Avatar was the greatest movie ever, something most others I've talked to did... Other 3D movies than Avatar has always done 3D very poorly, even the best 3D that you see in technology centers and such doesnt cut it for me.

This is the thousanth thread on the subject.

No, I don't like 3D, but I don't care if movie developers include it, I can just as easily watch the 2D version.

3D is a bad idea, 90% of the 3D TVs on the market cause bad headaches and eyestrain if you're on a bad angle...basically anything that's not dead centre.

Pretty much every gradual advance in technology gets released earlier than it's 'needed'. Without releasing it, they don't know how to improve it, the public release, like public beta testing of games, is necessary to reduce the amount of faults upon a fullscale release.

Let 3D have a chance to get better before complaining.

3D stereo vision for video games though... I like it. I played Black & White in 3D back then, I must say that improved the experience. Looking at your hand hovering right above the citizens with great depth didn't get old.

Can't imagine how cool it must look in today's games.

I avoid 3D films wherever possible. I just don't like them. 2D is perfectly acceptable to me. Although, this is probably going to be the next big thing, so I guess I'll have to put up with it.

Is there any need? Of course not. But the media industry are trying everything they can do to get an edge on everyone else. I'm not a fan of 3d myself, but if an industry could actually make a good 3d game that did everything right, I would applaud it.

3D is a waste of time for anything other than games until they can find a way to do it without the glasses. Having to spend a not insignificant amount of money on glasses for every person you want to be able to enjoy it with you is a considerable barrier to success of the medium in the home environment.

Personally i don't care. I lean on saying "No" only because i simply don't have the option of seeing a 3D movie where i live. And as it happens nearly EVERYONE i know got to see Avatar in 3D but me, so i may be a little bitter about that.

Also, i am looking forward to seeing Tron 2 in 3D this Christmas because i SHOULD have a 3D theater here by then. I mean, it's FUCKING TRON!

Yeah, sometimes 3d can be amazing. Seeing a dragon fly into my face in avatar blew my goddamn socks off.

But you know what, I can't stand them for the sheer purpose that I look ridiculous wearing two glasses.
