America is a fucking stupid country full of fucking stupid people. Not all of them, but way too many of them. In a non-stupid country, anyone who even SUGGESTED something this retarded would become a laughing stock for the rest of their life.
I think it's just that their stupid people break the curve, not that there's more of them.

In Canada, you watch TV.
In Soviet Russia, TV watch you.
In America, you sue TV!
That's... so... brilliant :D

OT: That's going right into my book of the most stupid things to ever see come from human beings. And.. it's going pretty high up there >.<

On the "child running across the street" thing, I remember at age of around 7-9, we had a policeman coming into the school to tell us stuff like that, so a child of 4 should not necessarily be accountable for such behaviour.

This is the stupidest thing I've heard all year, what the hell was the judge smoking when he allowed this case to go forward? Why is it always the U.S. where this sort of thing happens, despite the stereotype I know most of them are actually reasonable people! Thank the Pie I live in the UK...

It's about time. I'm tired of these 4 year olds getting away with everything. Who do they think they are, children?
I know, next thing we know they'll be asking for naps and shirking their jobs.
Exactly, that's why we've got to nip that bad behavior in the bud. Especially since in most parts of the world the unemployment rate of 4 year olds is a staggering 100%!

I believe that the parents should have to take responsibility for his actions at that age.

I swear, Americas legal system is so fucked up beyond belief. I studied law for 4 years at university and seen my share of ridiculous UK laws, but America takes the fucking cake.
In Boston its illegal to drive a car with a Gorilla in the back seat. We do have RIDICULOUS if not HILARIOUS laws

I really hope my friends Matt & Trey come across this and, well, tear the whole subject a new one.
Ike runs over an old lady after some freak accident while learning to ride.
Gerald struggles to defend against the waves of asshole lawyers that want in on this new type of case.

Usual chaos ensues.

....

Perfect.

lawyers were children once i suppose..............maybe thats why they're
lawyers now cos they got sued when they were FOUR
the moral of the story is....DON'T SUE FOUR YEAR OLDS
OMG...that's how they breed. I think there's more to this case than meets the eye.

This whole thing was staged to create a more cunning, ruthless breed of lawyer. In 20 years, that four-year old will be the Anakin Skywalker of the Legal System.

Damn midichlorians.

It was a terrible ACCIDENT, there shouldn't be any legal issues here. It's unfortunate but I don't think the children meant to cause the injury.

The 4 Year old shouldn't be sued directly for it, but if the old lady was indeed injured, then the parents of the child should be open to a lawsuit. I mean, they should have kept in eye on the kid.
Or, you know, shit happens. I have no idea why America has this whole lawsuit culture, it's really petty.
This, everyone is so lawsuit happy in the US. It's ridiculous

This is a quote from the article. -?Courts have held that an infant under the age of 4 is conclusively presumed to be incapable of negligence.?- DERP!!!!! I mean really, the old lady's estate are trying to make it sound like the kids were shooting smack and going down on each other while riding their bikes. A kid that age probably still has trouble wiping their own ass. This is a sad sad case if they let these people go through with it.

If the kid's got insurance to pay in the event it's found responsible, I see little problem in it being possible to evaluate whether it has done something ordinary 4 year olds couldn't be expected to do, and which they should know better than doing. Which probably isn't a whole lot.

I'd love to see in 14-16 years when the kid goes in for his first job interview and the boss says, "It says here on your record you were sued for running down an old lady at the age of four".
