Tyranids are the most moral. They only wage war to facilitate breeding.

Sadly I have to go with 40k. Played that one for an entire year before getting into Ogres as well. :p

I prefer 40k mostly because there are a lot of fantasy games out there and while Warhammer's is certainly unique it just can't match the pure awesomeness of taking fantasy species and then flinging them into the future. Dunno why no one thought of savage space elves and Orc space Pirates before :p

I like both, but 40k would definitely have to be my preference. I just generally prefer sci-fi over fantasy anyway.

For the might of the god emperor!!!

(I prefer tau but it's too hard to start an army with them.)

I can only speak for myself but I didn't get into Warhammer Fantasy because it was too generic looking. Humans and Orcs and Elves and Dwarves and Goblins and blah I've seen this all a dozen times before.

40k had a lot more to offer to me in the way of variety of races and a unique look, not to mention an expanded Universe that is still unlike any other Sci-Fi setting I've ever seen.

40k is a gateway drug though. Once I started playing the game and talking to the other players I learned about the Tomb Lords, Beast Men, Skaven and of course the shared connection with the Chaos Daemons.
I've since been making an army list to take down those rotten Dwarves with the supreme grace of a Skaven Horde.

seriouisly not regular warhammer its actually warhammer (fantasy) jesus christ and i prefer fantasty as it is a much more fun in depth complicated game with more in depth strange armies aka ogres orks and goblins demons etc and the rules are much more realisitc e.g. its harder to shoot someone if they are furthur away then someone next to you in which 40k doesnt pick up on

I play both (And Lord of the Rings warhammer!), but I prefer 40k. Although, maybe thats just because I'm more of a sore loser than I think- 12 fantasy matches so far, 10 losses, 2 draws. 40k, I have a much, much higher sucess rate (and I'm practically unbeaten at LOTR warhammer, not that that matters...)
Still didn't stop me getting a large Chaos Warrior and decent Dwarf army...then again, it's never going to rival the size of my Eldar and Chaos Marine armies. (And Dwarfs and Mordor in LOTR!...I'll shut up about that now)
But still, I just find 40k more fun- plus it's easier for me to get my head around the tactics (and rules) than fantasy.

I really like the look of the 40K models but the setting as a whole I find to be a bit so-so. It really had potential when it first came out but it seems to have been locked on a development path of increasing stupidity. Still, it does look really nice.

Warhammer Fantasy I prefer as a setting, it feels so much better made but then I suppose it's not exactly groundbreaking as far as settings go. Also the fact that it's so much smaller as a fictional universe helps a lot. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay also helps massively in making the world feel real.

I play 40k mainly because it seems a lot more flexible and the models are more prevalent but I do like the theme of warhammer more so I might switch at some point in the future.

I love them both, but I seem to go through a cycle of liking fantasy/sci-fi every few months. Right now, I'm playing fall From Heaven, Red Dead Redemption, and painting my stegodon, so very much in a fantasy mood right now.
