So long as Anonymous doesn't take any actions too big for the U.S. federal government to let go unnoticed, they will win.

But the moment they go too far and incur the wrath of "warranted" force, forget about it. The government has bigger worries.

I'm still rooting for the underdog of course :D

Going against Anon on this one. I don't support censorship and would like to see it ease up but I don't want it gone completely. They are just a bunch of pedophiles wanting to see their Child porn without having to deal with anything. Shut those fuckers down!
You do know the majority of 'known anonymous boards' such as 4chan's /b/, etc, HATE CP, right?

There's always the few random guys, but a clearly more vast number of them are against it...

As for what's actually going on, I fully support Anon's goals, if not just because at least they don't lie to you like the government does. Anon tells and shows like and how it is. If you're being an asshole, they will call you out on it.......and god help you if you hurt a cat...

Huh. Good on them. Wikileaks is a good thing, and the Assange is being targeted for it is nothing short of despicable. I'm glad to see my favorite websites are finally banding together, and the reason is just icing on the cake.

I am constantly hoping for anon to do something so crazy, so insane that they get the wrath of most governments around, then when they realize they can't DDOS their way out of it, it will be fun to watch 4chan going insane when they realize they only have as much power as the government allows them to have...

Though it's starting to look like our government is unfortunately being "Patient" and not curb stomping anon already... How unfortunate.
I'm sensing bitterness.

If the government had an appropriate response to the leak, I'd have ignored the whole thing. Their response has hardly been appropriate. It's somewhere in between ridiculous and batshit insane.

Go Anon.

I have a hard time understanding people that hop into these threads to say "can't wait to see them get what's coming to them", like they've some personal vendetta against them. The motivation doesn't concern me, it's the part where you insist on building them up as despicable supervillains and acting like you're doing them a disservice in the process. As long as people are willing to fall into a sobbing heap on the floor like a witch from L4D, Anon will remain a mythical figure. Not that I mind this, but still, good going on your part.

That said, I'll back pretty much anything Anonymous does on a large scale, provided it's done for reasons that resonate with me, or just plain funny, which is pretty simple for me because it's usually a healthy dose of both.

I can't choose...on one hand i am tired of the political bullshit that goes on in the USA and want lots of older people replaced with younger more acceptable of new things people..but on the other hand these document supposedly will cause the economy a blow and that is something we don't need right now...especially when we are just now crawling out of the ditch of it.

Anonymous is not a "they" or a group, not really. one can no more declare war on "anonymous" as they can declare war on anonymity itself.

This is why 4Chan is awesome. We definitely need to support this. WikiLeaks has provided an amazing service to the world. It provides transparency that is important to keep governments in check and ensure freedom and justice to all people of all nations.

Anon's heart is in the right place, but I think that I kind of support the governments on this one. Think of a goverment as one single being (which is how it would be in an ideal world). Some of the stuff leaked was opinions and first impressions of some important foreigners, right? Well, this is the kind of stuff that government officials need to pass around in order to be able to work with those foreigners. They were in private circulation. By leaking them, this man exposed the governments thoughts to the world. He (and I know this sounds weird) invaded the governments privacy.

But there were some other pretty bad things leaked, if I understand. Those things should be exposed.

How can the government possibly hope to win, when all anon is nothing but a collection of the people they try to rule? The "anons" have always been here, except now they have a way to centralize and mobilize. Fighting anon is like fighting the wind

Wether the anons should win is up for debate
