people are on here supporting Anon ,but do they really know the real consequences of it's actions? do they really want the results...

Governments play high stakes games with information...
if a government is force into losing by anonymous citizens who only know so much about the current global situation...
what could the results be far down along the lines?

There's nothing wrong with a fair amount of honest transparency

But I think that any government with the informational fortitude of a cell membrane can run into serious issues of national security along the way.

when a nation's security is compromised, the safety of it's people is compromised.
a compromise I'm not willing to endure.

the principle of strictness in honesty and action is great, but I would prefer it if people were more skeptical about their folk-heroes...especially ones from the internet.

I support Anon, although they can't win. And it's not really true to label 4chan as "anarchic", since there are a lot of users on there in opposition to Anarchism.

Go Anon though. I also support Assange.

The only I thing I don't get though, is why Paypal?
Anon is, by definition, anarchic?

"are a lot of users on there"

No.. no you can't do that. They are legion, they are one? You're suggesting more than one.
You're talking about Anon, 4chan is not Anon.
Ah thought they were analogous, truth be told I don't really care beyond ideologies, and the whole anon stuff is pretentious bull.
"Because the're the hero the internet deserves, but not the one it needs right now...and so we'll hunt them, because they can take it. Because the're not an hero. The're silent guardians, watchful protectors...ANON. "
Great job at disproving his argument! /sarcasm

Oooh, anon is so dark and edgy wooooh.
Seriously, a blatant rip-off from The Dark knight....seriously?

OT: I support Assange and his goals. But I could not care less about anonymous.
I'm sorry, but it's obviously a Batman quote, you seem to lack a sense of humour.

OT: Anon tends to attract minor media attention with most of it's projects. This one however, is primarily aimed at getting publicised. It's still the same old DDoS'ing, but now it's about spreading the word, and hopefully (if they can get organised enough this time) demonstrating public support.

I'm interested to see how it pans out.

Hells yea, fuck Poland. Now Russia knows we all expect them to attack west Europe, and our plans for defending it. This is the transparency we need. Never mind the nullified assets in drawing up said plans, plus the new diplomatic tensions this will cause between Russia and Nato. We needed to know this. The world needed to know this. Thank you Mr. Assange, thank you for not knowing the difference between dirty laundry and issues of state security, and consequently lifting the veil on both, you stupid, stupid twat.

I am constantly hoping for anon to do something so crazy, so insane that they get the wrath of most governments around, then when they realize they can't DDOS their way out of it, it will be fun to watch 4chan going insane when they realize they only have as much power as the government allows them to have...

Though it's starting to look like our government is unfortunately being "Patient" and not curb stomping anon already... How unfortunate.
Ha...oh wow...
You really are quite naive, aren't you?

Not really no, all I see Anon as are a bunch of self-righteous crazies who declare a crusade on you and your family if you so much as miff them. I really don't get this "Freedom Fighter!" attitude some of them and their supporters have, and to be honest, I also think the guy who released the wiki leaks was a dirt bag also. I DO think that people are entitled to know what their government is up to, but they don't HAVE to know everything. If there are files on corruption in the government, fine, release those, but from what I understand about this whole debacle, it was more then just that... It was files on diplomacy, foreign relations, plans, what that idiot on wiki leaks did could have harmed foreign relations and possibly even put a few people's lives at risk, he doesn't have any sympathy from me.
Yes, really, yes.
If you would have thought for a moment before writing, then you might have realised that I don't really give a damn about your thoughts on 'Anon' or Wikileaks etc.
What I was hoping to comment upon was your rather idiotic depiction, and I say depiction as opposed to belief because I accept the fact that you could be an actual person behind the persona-fueled facade of the forum user, of the government's power.

originally, i was moreso in favor of Wikileaks, but after reading http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-11933089 , some of the stuff wikileaks has leaked seems like very bad news.

some of the major leaks Wikileaks has posted:
* Fears that terrorists may acquire Pakistani nuclear material
* Several Arab leaders urged attack on Iran over nuclear issue
* US instructs spying on key UN officials
* China's changing ties with North Korea
* Yemen approved US strikes on militants
* Personal and embarrassing comments on world leaders
* Afghan leader Hamid Karzai freed dangerous detainees
* Russia is a "virtual mafia state" with widespread corruption and bribery
* Afghan President Hamid Karzai is "paranoid and weak". Extent of corruption in Afghanistan
* Chinese leadership 'hacked Google'
* A list of key global facilities the US says are vital to its national security

All things that anyone who was midly politically aware could have worked out on their own, without the leaks. Rest assured, this won't affect tensions in the regions, as this is old news to governments worldwide.

I support Anon.....somewhat. Im all for any action they take in the E-Nets defense even if said action doesn't count for shit in the grand scheme of things..but I don't support all the child porn and gore porn that the average 4channer seems to love so much! So you can pretty much be sure that I hate anything that any governing body be it the US goverment, the EU, etc does to try to control content on the net to heavily(stoppping child porn=good please continue, banning me from the net for using copyrighted images, and songs=stop that shit right now!) On the flip side im entirely against Anons pro-Wikileaks actions in every way! that website can cease to exist and its creator can rot in prison for all I care!
