At first I was up for banning zombies(K, barring twilight, what other media has done vampires shittily?) until I read unsilenced's post.
I realized that zombies are pretty much just the Nazis, Terrorists and Russians of today. Just humanoid targets to exercise power fantasies on.
Then I thought about it more and realized, I don't hate zombies for their media. I hate them for their fans.
I mean, I know lots of people BANKING on and WISHING for a zombie apocalypse because they have more plans for when a zombie apocalypse strikes than any real plans for the future. God knows what would happen if the world ends via giant tsunami, volcano erupting or ragnarok.
And a lot of these plans are doomed to failure if you think about these for more than a few seconds and remove the media from it, but point it out to them? Oh no. They' ll talk your ear off with non-too-kind words about it.
So to sum up my rant, I say, give the zombie survival genre a chance to actually flesh out the Survival part of the equations. I have nothing against zombies in general, Even their fans, but I will still phase out like it's a University lecture when you regale me your improbable plans to survive a zombie outbreak
