I just finished watching the Extra Credits: Facing Controversy. I think the project (six Days in Fallujah) should be brought back and finished. I want to know if a Protest would be supported and how many of you would stand with it. No matter what you think please vote and post why you feel one way or another

I think petitions are lame, but it was a game I was looking forward to. Remind me of the companies involved again?
Atomic Games are the developers, Konami were the publishers.

Edit: While I'd love to revive the game somehow (I would certainly buy it), sorry to bring the bad news but Atomic Games pretty much went bust, while the game is supposed to be finished, it'd be nice if someone did a Gearbox and bought the majority of the team from the ashes.

Petitions change nothing. Also, I could have swore that I read that the game was going to be made eventually, just that it was shelved until the 'right time'.

I have not heard of this game.

I will look it up and give my opinion.

Edit: I could see the problem if you played as the Taliban or something, but this is perfectly acceptable.

Listen, I think I get more of a say than about half the Country (USA). I have a brother in the war right now.

My brother owns MW2, Cod4, and rents those other games every once in a while. He loves them. And I know for a fact he has been in combat, plus he has lost friends.

He technically gets the biggest say out there, all of those soldiers. You find that they just don't give a shit, even if they do have bad experiences in war.

And the way some of these people act who have lost family members... IS denying the existence of the battle any way to honor the fallen?

Sure, release it. I'd actually like to see it come back. It sounds like one of those heroing tales of legend that we hear about in the greek/roman myths. It sounds like a great game sociologically bbecause it tells the Heroic tale of soldiers fighting for their lives, growing from boys to men.

from a financial standpoint... we're in a recession in the US. ANY money made that equals profit is good.

a petition may not help tbh, but it's a game i'd like to see finished certainly.

I agree'd with the extra credits guys in that; films can do this, art can do this (infact one of my fellow art students just exhibited some work related to the suffering of iraqi's during the war- and that certainly wasnt considered too soon, in fact it was applauded!) so why cant a game do it?
...Especially if some of the guys who actually fought there want it to happen.

I have no problem with the game and feel sorry about everything the crew at Atomic Games went through; but even if it did come out somehow, I probably wouldn't get it. I've had enough with realistic shooters and don't like to watch realistic war scenarios.

It'd be awesome if they did a solid job of the execution of storytelling.
In CODMW 1 and 2, infinity ward did a good job of immersion, making you feel pissed that you get killed and betrayed in both games.
Fallujah didn't have such nukes or double agents, but if the developers put enough effort into immersion and character development, gamers would be flocking to empathize with our (assuming you're US) soldiers.

In the meanwhile, if Korean War II breaks out maybe we'll have a new era of war FPS's.

It looked alright, but only because i like third person realism games. Also i agree that soldiers who've "been in the shit" just don't care about these things, they have more important stuff to concenrate on such as dealing with their traumatic experiances.

6 days in Fallujah would have been just another propagandist bullshit about the US fighting the good fight. I refuse to play that shit, and I refuse to even for one instance believe that Atomic Games and the stooges working there would have created a unique game, it was just going to be another shooter twisting the facts leading to the fallujah invasion for another excuse to shoot some some pixelated Iraqis in the name of freedom and all the other sweet BS associated with it.

There's more about the type of suffering Fallujah civvies had to endure, from unprovoked killing to that type of BS in the thread above. And to think, that when this war is still fresh in the news, and in the mind of the people here, it's not fucking wise to release it. Hell, release it 10/20 years from now when enough morons will think that the Iraq war was fought for the "right" reasons.

Oh boy another realistic shooter -_-
now i have started avoiding the dusty brownfest that is medal of honor and modern warfare ect. too, but i think this is actually something i would like to see. its shocking how little Americans and even the world knows about the events going on in Iraq, and sad how few people know about the second battle of Fallujah, one of Americas most intense modern battled during the Iraq war.
The fact that actual honest to god veterans of this battle support this project screams at me just how out of touch the "we support our troops" bumper sticker wearers are.
If this were made i would buy it.

Because an over simplification based on the top layer of mainstream games really holds so much more water. I don't think this game would break records, but to have enough controversy to have a complete shut down for the project and basically the whole company? That doesn't raise any curiosity? One of the games selling points was pretty much whistle blowers getting together and making a game to show what happens, not some office lurker wanting to make another gun juggling game.

There's been games made in America without a steroids pumping Uncle Sam behind the gun, and Japan isn't the only place where creativity can be made...
