Sexual assault is NOT an assault that at some point involves damage to the genitals. It is an assault with the intention of sexually taking advantage of your victim.

The fact that anybody even has to say this, as though some clarification is necessary, is fucking depressing. Fire the school master, send him to a re-education camp and if that doesn't fix him, put him in an oven. He's worthless to humanity.

And the school is absolutely doing the right thing by refusing to give out information regarding pre-pubescent children.

We have no way to know the details of what happened. And thats exactly how it should be.

If something did happen, the stupidest and most unethical thing to do would be release the details of it to the press so that the whole world knows what happened to the other kid. Whoever put the first kid's name out there before anything has been decided is damn stupid too.

Where I come from in Norway we have a word for this... It roughly translates into "take me from behind in a tub of lard", but means "this is stupid"... And this IS stupid. If someone seriously suggested to me that this is the right thing to do, I'd likely be charged with sexual assault myself, and I'd have the exact same lack of sexual motivation as this 7-year-old... Yet to meet a sexually active 7-year-old too, so...

Considering that he was 7 years old, I would think that he had absolutely no sexual intention when he made that punch. I know it was in a sexual place, but come on! The OP said that the kid was being bullied by this person on the bus, had his gloves stolen, and was being strangled. FUCKING STRANGLED. I think that gives him the right to retaliate in order to get himself out of that situation and possibly save his own life. And I don't think that when the kid punched him there that he was thinking, "Maybe if I play with his genitals, he'll get a horny boner and we can I can force myself on him", he was probably thinking, "All guy's are weak here, maybe if I punch him here I can get away while he's doubled over in pain", or another possibility is that he just wildly threw a punch to escape the death grip of doom and it just so happened that this punch was to his crotch. The school is taking this way to seriously, and the one who should get punished is the one who was fucking STEALING and STRANGLING. I don't even know which school this is, but I've already lost all respect for them. That's like going up to someone who's family was just killed by a murderer (this person was there to and just barely escaped) and saying, we understand that your family was just murdered, but we also understand that in an effort to escape while the criminal had a gun to your head, you kicked him in the balls, and then abandoned the crime scene without calling an ambulance for that poor man. We're going to have to charge you with sexual assault. And by the way, all charges against him are dropped. See you in court *****.

So apparently in Boston a first grader named Mark Curran, 7yrs old, is being charged with sexual assault because he punched one of his male classmates in the crouch. The story goes that Mark was being bullied on the bus and was being choked and had his gloves stolen, which resulted in Mark being charged with sexual assault because he responded to the bully by punching him in the crotch. When the school was asked as to why he was being charged, they stated that:
"Matthew Wilder, spokesman for the Boston public schools, declined to comment on the incident or why it has been classified as a possible case of sexual harassment. He said officials do not discuss confidential student information.

"Any kind of inappropriate touching would fall under that category," Wilder said. "The school administration is conducting a full investigation that has not concluded yet. Certainly, once that investigation is through, we?ll then make a final conclusion as to who will be disciplined and how.""

What do you guys think, is this going too far?

I remember about 7 years ago, in primary school, I kicked a kid in the balls. No huge consequences, but from what i remember i was banned from the playground for about 2 weeks.
