NO.

I would elaborate but I've already posted in the THREE (at least) other threads where people have posed the exact same question as you.

Am I going insane or are all the threads nowadays duplicates? It's beginning to take the piss.

The guy who plays Goku is white. 'Nuff said.
because Goku is really an alien, ***** on that instead of his skin colour, how about the actor doesn't turn into a monkey in real life.
Even if he was yellow, brown, or black, nothing change the fact, that this movie has NOTHING to do with Dragonball; the producers could easily change the film name, and characters/location/attack moves name, and we wouldn't even notice a single thing.
the inspiration for the film goes hand in hand with the DBZ franchise, fucking it up is a part of making it, if they did make the film without any of the DBZ in it, then people would ***** that its ripping off DBZ and its doing it badly.
Once again, it's not, NOT NOT NOT based on DBZ, just DragonBall, the prequel to the show you keep talking about.
so what are you arguing about?, I got the Z wrong, i'm sorry!, but it doesn't matter... because my point was that you should ***** about the actor in real life doesn't turn into a monkey in real life, and SonGoku turns into a monkey in DB, not in BDZ (maybe DBGT), so by that statement you should have known which series I was talking about... call yourself a fan? you digust me! (total joking!, honest)

The movie would have to be 3-4 hours long because it would take about 30-60 minutes for them to charge up their attacks....so epic fail.
Dragonball != Dragonball z.

If you watched the original series you would know that, as it invalidates your claims.
The distinction between Dragonball and Dragonball Z only existed in the animated adaptation. The comics were all published as "Dragonball".

Also, I don't care about Dragonball really, but the movie doesn't half look bland.
I'm going to go ahead and point out the english adaption of the Manga was still split up into Dragonball/Dragonball Z, and this movie is an english adaption largely aimed at english speaking countries.

Regardless, the Anime is popular, with most of the fanbase having only ever watched the anime, so putting a clear seperation between two series is important.

I used to watch DB alot a few years ago(I remeber pretty much eveything about the series) so I would like to see how a live action movie would go. I'm still having a hard time figuring out how they would make it look right(the special effects would have to be REALLY good to pull it off).
