It's got potential, it looks like Bungie are finally allowing the series to grow up a bit. It certainly looks a lot more 'realistic' from what I've seen so far. But only time will tell if they've actually had the balls to mess with their golden formula for the better.

i have a friend who will undoubtably buy it but even before i came to this sight i started to think bungie was just milking this series after halo 3 so thus my opinion is this: halo1-3 were all great games but now the series should be over and their just turning it into hardcore FPS mario.

I'd agree that he was given more depth than MC (not saying much), but at the cost of the awesome enemy losing most of it's awesomeness. And the brutes were just not as fun to fight against as the elites...take an elite's shield down and they take cover until it comes back up. do that to a brute and they start to cry and charge you.

How about Call of Duty's 9 games? Medal of Honor's 7 games? Rainbow Six's 7 games?

I like halo, and I hate how it is cool to hate it. I enjoy the gameplay, pure and simple, but you really shouldnt have made the poll so one-sided, it just screams fanboy

how is it biased? I give a yes and no option, don't I? If people aren't planning to get it, or aren't excited, i'm not attacking them in any way. Furburt said he doesn't like Halo and isn't excited, and I accept and am fine with that. The only post that seems to have any real "flame" to it is yours. I put the halo sucks option because these forums have an "obvious" anti-halo bias and I was just poking fun at all the people who judge halo, or any game for that matter, without ever playing it.

I must admit, I don't really see the bias in the poll...

Still, I'm not excited, I must admit. The first one was surprisingly good, but beyond that I'm not a huge fan. Still, I look forward to the launch day, as a friend of mine works in the local GAME, and every time a Halo game is released a guy turns up in full Spartan armour to buy it at midnight. The photos of him looking slightly awkward really make my day.

Syas the man who put in a halo sucks derpa derp option. Where I come from we make those noises to suggest retardation. So what you are suggesting is that people who think halo sux are retarded. They are intitled to their opinions but making fun of them is obvious flaming.

I'll wait until I see some more info before I get excited, but medpacks, mysterious, non-english speaking aliens, and the uber-pistol in ODST make me feel like Bungie's going back to Halo's roots, which is a good thing IMO.

Since when is 6 games milking something?
Final Fantasy is on it's 14th game, Call of Duty is around it's 9th, but why is there so much more bitching for Halo then those? Is it because you dislike it? Is it because you enjoy hating popular things? Because if it is, then the "milking" isn't your problem.

OT: This game looks awesome, from what I saw. I'm excited for a new spin on the franchise.

Agreed, and Final Fantasy is only on it's 14th numerical sequel. Let's not go into all the Tactics (which I love dearly), Crystal Chronicles, Dissidias and such.

Yeah but the Final Fantasy series is actually good. As you can tell; I don't like Halo.

despite what others think i am excited for this as the idea of a prequil squad based combat could be cool, hopefully getting back to their roots. the new features look quite good hopefully the story will be better and the campaign MUST BE LONGER Christ that is the one thing outside the story they should have added.

at this point i may not be coherent but i am looking forward to it and yes i know bungie is milking me for all my worth.

I don't want to just assume that this game will suck, i actually liked halo wars (not as good as starcraft but...) and i'd like to think that maybe one of the FPS halo games will actually be good, but this game looks like the plot of republic commando, only they added a mute to the squad (you) and some random blue chick. but you got the big yellow explosives guy, the commander has orange armor (i think, dont quote me on that), the red guy has the sniper and awesome mask and so on.
