I actually quite like the Queen, what I know of her she's an extremely astute politician (and has managed to skilfully persuade everyone that this isn't the case) and quite cunning.
On the flip side I despise monarchy. Really, really hate it. It goes against every bit of knowledge and every ideal in my head. It's a disgusting and archaic view of the world which treats people as better than you simply because their ancestors were better at killing people who sat on shiny things.

Yeah. It's sickening.

But my local team is pants too, I don't actively support football very much, my interest in sport lies more in playing than in watching (and I tend to watch rugby over football).
So, neither really. I would rejoice if the monarchy dissolved tomorrow and I would rejoice if the waste of space local team did too.

I harbour no sentiments for the royal family and football is at it's best when it's just a few mates having a kick about. Professional football is just a massive dollop of bull in my opinion.

I hate football, not that it makes a difference since my local club's only real achievement was qualifying for the FA Cup, and they lost 9-1 on the First Round. I do still have respect for the Queen, the little amount there is, so that's where my vote is.

not to be prejudice in any way, but i don't think a gaming community overall would give a wholly representative statistic on an issue such as this. If all the UK were posed with this question, the neither section ould be A LOT lower and the club section higher! in my opinion anyway

As I said though, I was giving an example of what the average Escapist thinks. I LIKE football, I voted for football. Everything I said was explaining why the results are as they are and why Escapists would vote for the Queen rather than Football just because of stereotypes they make about football.
Yes, that's pretty much the point I missed :D

The Queen? No

My Football Team? When you walk, through a storm. Hold your head up high... erm yeah I love my football. I like alot of sports but football is the one I religiously follow, as well as my favourite to play.

I have an overwhelming hatred of football, and a lot of respect for the Queen. She fulfills an important role in our international relations and does some good charity work. The rest of the royals though, blech. For the most part a bunch of jumped up arrogant tossers (from what i see in the media. who knows, in private they could actually be nice people)

I support my home team Reading, because my Dad does, I am not fussed however about the Queen, though she is arranging another 4 days weekend next year... Now THAT I can get onboard with.

Im not the biggest football fan, but i would take most things over the monarchy. I see no real reason to even have a monarchy, and i would have them all stripped of their titles if i could. We're not living in ye olde times anymore, we have no need for Kings and Queens anymore.

They're both completely pointless aside from the MONEYZ they milk from average n00b tourists/ brain dead people every year.

That's generally my perception of why the queen is still alive. She is all but a cash cow, literally. Football is completely shite and pointless, but generates vast amounts of cash for... a few people...

That's entertainmant for you. :|

My local club is about to be facing some bad times thanks to our dickhole of an ex-manager buggering off and taking players with him. I try to support them as much as I can because the other local teams tend to be more supported, and I love where i'm from. Plus when you see Torquay United's LOVELY bright yellow kit, you'll all be jealous of what I get to wear on matchday.

Plus, I don't give a crap about any of the royals.

Torquay eh?

You made me sad indeed, beating us in the play-offs in such a manner :p

Both. But on the other hand, both would be not at all. So, neither I suppose. Wow, this post was pointless.

Not interested in football, and the only thing I like about the royal family was that I was able to use the wedding day for a big get together with my friends.

Neither. I love British history but not the country in modern times. I'm not patriotic in the slightest and would gladly move to Australia or Canada in a heartbeat
I'm also not a sports fan at all. I'm not lazy, I'm just not sporty and I have a particular hatred for football just because it's everywhere, I can't get away from it and it bores me to tears!

Neither. Couldn't care less about one or the other to be fair. The Royals are just a bunch of toffs and football is for people not man enough to play rugby.
That sounds like a quote from my great granddad.
