Trust me, if you leave it to die in there, you may as well chuck away the cup. You'll certainly never use it for drinking again.

Second.

That, or post up on /b/ with a "post ending in x" post. Those guys are way more creative than we could ever be.
Littlee300: That had me laughing.
Ajna: One can only imagine what will come of that o.o

I said release it.
But only because suffocating anything somewhat harmless is mean. Even for me.

take it outside. Depending on the fly species, it will die soon anyway, and what you're doing now is just unnecessarily cruel (even if it is a fly).

I say release it, only because the thought of squishing stuff makes me gag.

Related note; flies are disgusting, drown that cup in bleach and then crush it into oblivion. It's the only way you'll get it clean.

trufax.

I caught it under a clear plastic cup on my desk. It's been in there for about a day now, so I imagine he doesn't have long left. Regardless, should I release it into the wild, leave it, or squash it?
Kitty?

Observe the fly. Learn from it as if it was your enemy. Let it die then eat it.

It doesn't matter what you to tbh... flies are so low on the intelligence scale that their lives really are worthless.

Let it go. As much as I loathe houseflies, I always shepherd them out the nearest window. No use killing another creature, unless it intends to inflict violences 'pon you. Or you're hungry. You could eat it.

That said, I sometimes hang flypaper up, but that's only in the height of summer when the buggers are traipsing en masse into the house from the nearby livestock.

I agree with this post. If you show kindness to just one fly then before you know it there are hundreds of flies around your room trying to be your "friend". So you have to nip this in the bud before it goes to far.

Ask yourself this question: if you were under that cup would the fly let you go? Do what must be done. *hands over the shotgun*

Edit: Schizophrenic Justin posts are a marvel to behold.
Wow, I had never really thought about it that wah...

OT: I'd say let it go, possibly earn yourself some good karma

I support this affirmation.

By the way, any tips on catching the mosquito in my living room?

If you let it go, the fly will just fly back and annoy you even more. The smart choice would be to kill it.

EDIT: You would also level up. True story.

My parents frown at me setting things on fire, for some reason.

It's only a little fly - let it go. Alternatively, have you seen the film The Fly? Do what happens in that.

Well, if you already caught it, you might as well let it live, outside of your room. Apart from that, if a fly comes into your room, you might as well instantly kill it next time. For the same reason I don't go into a lion's cage.

Put it in the sink and wash it down the drain, a most horrible death for on of the most horrid of creatures

Let the creature go, it's gonna die in 13 minutes anyway...I mean let it go!
