No I personally do not think he is since it has been proven that Jesus is a real person that did exist about 2000 years ago.

As great as we was relatively to many U.S. presidents, he still exercised certain dictatorial measures, waged total war of the South ("total" meaning that infrastructure, civilians, and general morale were also targeted), and was more concerned with national unity than with black enfranchisement (though that was still important to him).

None of this necessarily detracts from his character, but there are plenty of other famous figures who could do better.

"If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it."

Not necessarily to imply that he was a racist (although I think he was but I can't remember what piece of evidence led me to believe so) but just to point out that he wasn't much of an idealist and therefore can't really be called "the greatest human ever"...though I suppose that's depending upon your definition of "great". But there have been more significant humans and there have been "better" humans in history.

QUIET FOOL! Do you WANT this to turn into a religous debate? Plus just because he existed doesn't mean he was God's son or that he was an awesome wizard.

No. Personally, though he had his flaws (honestly, everyone does), I'd say the title goes to Gandhi, but that's just me.

Plus, you know, master of snarkery. "I think it would be a wonderful idea."
