I sort of get the "Associated with gangs" thing, But I wear a fucking fedora. They don't quite know how to deal with me.

Apherently, wearing a hat is "Impolite"

*Ahem*

HOW IS IT IMPOLITE TO COVER PART OF YOUR HEAD??!?!
I feel like coming up with a new arbitrary law, or social code.
From now on, it is incredibly rude to use the letter "P" more than 6 time is one sentence. Why? Because it's impolite.

Humanity, ladys and gentlemen.

lol Agreed.

Someone somewhere comes up with a rule about what is polite and expects everyone to follow it.

Personally i get pissed off when people boss me around and then try to justify it by putting Please on the end. It's still phrased as an order so I'm not gonna do it. Phrase it as a request.

Welcome to education, I'm afraid you'll be stuck here for sometime so why not lose your mind while your at it?
OT:Seriously that school is exaggerating big time. I thought it was bad that we can't have our phones on in the cafeteria during lunch (because of the noise :|, and because it's anti-social)
or that were not allowed to sit in the hall at any time even when the weather outside fucking kills you.

On the hat thing, one teacher once told me this: You're supposed to take of your hat in the presence of people or inside building because; during war times diplomats could be recognized by the hat they were wearing, once inside the enemy camp they would take it off to show neutral alignment thus a sign of peace.
And that's why hats ought to be taken of (even if were not at war and we aren't diplomats or anything...)

Additionally, in the office there's a box. This kind of box I have never seen anywhere. It is apparently for dropping notes in...to tip the police off about criminal activity.
Haha, we have that too. It's called 'The Bully Box'. Me friends joke around all the time about how we're gonna put each other in the bully box if one of us continues to do something (like being annoying or something).

We also can't fight back when someone attacks us (which I will throw out the window when the situation ever comes to me), and if we do we get a 10 day suspension. SCREW..THAT.

The hat rule is one that's been a rule in every school I've ever been in. I don't get it either, but that's just one of those things. It could be worse.
A friend of mine went to a school where it was against the rules to wear your top button undone. Why?
Because it 'brought the reputation of the school down'.
Anyone found not following this rule more than once in a day risked being sent home with a letter to their parents.

So yeah, I can sympathise but, there are definately worse and more stupid school rules out there...

[HEADING=1]UPDATE![/HEADING]

I asked several teachers about the hat rule, and my photography teacher finally gave me an answer. Apparently, rimmed hats can make your face harder to see for the cameras. This is also why no one is allowed in the halls at lunch - not as many cameras there. Hats without rims (such as my toque) are still not allowed, either because the administration wants to keep their totalitarian security system inconspicuous or because they're incompetent and lazy. I personally think it's both at the same time.
