In borderlands, I find that high accuracy + high recoil reduction + scope + Machine Gun = I win

It's half spray and pray, half shoot 'em in the face 30 meters away.

my favorite gun from call of duty (pre modern) was the lee enfeild.
I loved its accuracy and its large mag size (larger than the K98 anyway) Which ment you got some real nice shots.

In any game other than L4D2, I choose my shots carefully. I still tend to favour weapons with full-automatic capability, but I'd pick them for their large magazine size, relatively high accuracy, and decent damage-per-bullet. I do what you're supposed to do with an automatic weapon: Fire in short bursts. If you spray and pray, you're doing something wrong.

THe mian multiplayer game I play is Counter Strike and accuracy is vital to succes in that game.
In single player I tend to do the same as it its just so much more satisfying. Headshotting a splicer with the pistol in bioshock is so rewarding, seeing them sway for a second before finally going down was my favourite part of the combat.

Although I most commonly use assault rifles and SMGs I do prefer to be accurate. In CoD4 I love the G36C just for it's accuracy.

Accuracy is everything for me. If I don't hit, I shoot more. If I shoot more, I run out of ammo quicker. If I run out of ammo, I may not be able to take out the next guy who comes up.

I'm British like Sean Connery, not American like Shane West, so I don't shoot all over the place and hope to hit something (cookie for reference). I aim then shoot. Maybe that's why I'm such a good sniper in games...
NCIS?
Nope. Keep guessing...
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen?

OT: Accuracy is near the most important thing in a shooter.

This for me. However, practical reasons aren't the only reason why I care about accuracy. I just like clean, quick, accurate kills (it's why I play the Sniper in TF2 so much). Quickly switch between targets, popping each with a short burst. Makes me feel professional, badass.

Do I care about my accuracy? Yes. Am I accurate? Hell no.
I'm very inaccurate as a rule in FPSs, but even I can still make it through MW2 on Hard difficulty by sheer persistence (and thanks to checkpoint overkill).

I use both scoops and hip fire.

Normally scooping when I'm using a rifle or Sniper. Hip fire with pistols mostly and use both when I'm firing with shotguns and SMG's, really depends on the weapon, as I've just said, and whether I need range or not.

Depends on the prevalence of ammo.

If you're not accurate in, say, Oni, don't bother using anything but the Screaming Cannon and SMG.

Congratulations :D. I can't believe no-one got it sooner though. For those of you who don't know, Connery plays Allan Quatermain and in the film he teaches West's character Tom Sawyer to shoot properly. No trigger happy Yanks shooting everything in sight, if you want to actually be a good marksman then you need to aim...

I aim to shoot and always kill. I always try to be as accurate as I can and when it comes to sniping I will try and get one shot. one kill.

depends on the game, for halo I like to get up close and batter people. I did an awesome move the other day when I launched my buggy off a hill, jumped off in midair, sprayed a fuckload of battle rifle ammo at my friend then landed right next to him and then twatted him in the face for the kill.

Me, I can't stand missing, so I try and be as accurate as possible.

What about you, do you care or do you spray and pray?

(Anyone with a fully auto weapon may as well say no)
It depends really, if the game is good and the AI is a worthy fighter or if in multiplayer and your opponent is a strategist then accuracy isn't needed, just spray all over the shop and run away!.

I generally try to snipe a few times to soften them up and then break out melee to finish off the survivors.
