Right I've been mentioning sex related content for a while now so this will most likely be my last one for a while. So I've decided to ask a question to the peeps on where you stand on actresses who have no qualms undressing before the camera.
Now before you begin here's the basic argument:
ONE SIDE: Women who do that have no sense of shame, they parade themselves around on screen and allow themselves to be sex objects to gawped at. They should be ashamed.
THE OTHER SIDE: These women are proud of their figure and are proud of their sexuality. They are shackling off the image that women must never talk about sex and instead are proudly defying it. They have every reason to be proud.

I mean I can admit that usually when there is a nude scene in a movie it isn't a statement of defiance against female censorship but rather a chance to get the men all crazy horny. But nonetheless I think this could make for an interesting debate because after all sexuality is a big thing in femanism. Some could argue that they are allowing themselves to be exploited while others can just as easily say that this woman is proud of her sexulity and female form and believes the human body as a thing of beauty.

Where do you stand?

(so as not to get confused I am talking about women who merely get naked, not ones with massive fake boobs because I still think that really is sexist.)

Does it really matter, really its not like women are treated inferiorly anymore, not like they dont have the same privelages and rights. All this objectifying stuff seems like either people insecure about their own looks or raging femanists with little better to do. Why all this insecurity about sex all the time? I have no issues saying I love the female form I think its one of the most beautiful things on the planet and seeing as 90 some % of internet content is sex related in some way im sure many many others would agree even if they try and act the puratin.

They strip for the cameras of their own free will who knows the probably enjoy it, not like the media holds a gun to their heads and forces them. Sex is fine no need to be ashamed of it and men are just as objectafied who cares enjoy life theres not much too it at the end of the day.

It all depends on context. For example, in my all-time favorite movie Children of Men, a woman takes her shirt off. However, it isn't done in a sexual way; it happens because she needs to tell the main character that she is pregnant, but he would never believe it if she just said it*. Yes, you can see her breasts, but they aren't the focus.

Other times, however, there is no purpose, just pandering. It needs to be judged on a case-by-case basis.

*For those unaware, the premise of Children of Men is that, for the past 18 or so years, it has been impossible for women to get pregnant, and the human race is slowly dying. The fact that she becomes pregnant is absolutely flooring for the main character.

Your one side and other side are incredibly simplistic. It depends on the context as an earlier poster stated. Most movies however only show cleavage and frontal female nudity for one reason, to titillate the 'core male audience' if you pay attention you'll find that most movies (and games for that matter) seem to be under the impression that the major audience for anything is the knuckle dragging frat boy stereotype.
Most actresses probably wont say no because of a any one or combination of reasons, it's expected for women to get their kit off for men in media, she's comfortable with her body, she doesn't want the reputation of being 'difficult' or a 'prude', it's not something she'd love to do but she doesn't mind too much and wants to get paid/wants more screen experience to help get better parts.
It's so much more then 'women are sluts' vs 'the female form is a beautiful thing'.
Just look at the gender flipped version and how much people freaked out over Dr Manhattan in the Watchmen movie even though his nudity was not shot or treated in a sexual way in the least.
Female nudity = a-ok
Male nudity = Oh Noes it's giving me the gay germs! aahhhhhh!
Honestly I'd be very happy if we could lower the amount of female objectification down to where male objectification is now - rare but appearing from time to time where appropriate.

Also Nmil-ek: you should check your privilege, you look like an ass/extremely ignorant to anyone who pays attention to gender politics, too bad the gaming community isn't exactly a fount of progressive thought. I predict a lot of posters here taking your side over mine and calling me a sex-hating feminist *rolls eyes*

Well, you're posting on a forum dominated mostly by hulking, horny members of the opposite sex, so predictably we'll vote for anything that justifies the display of more naked chicks.

Whether because of the hormones or my actual beliefs, I found the second more agreeable.
Admittedly, film does need more cocks on screen (not my preference) to completely invalidate the first, but until then, I support the latter.

Besides, society could use more controversy.
It rattles up the intolerant conservative, and that can only mean progress and the advancement of morals.

Wow three brash generalisiations in one post condemming the gaming community one, assuming I am ignorant to gender matters based on your own speculations. Well your right I dont exactly hang around newsgroups or read article after article from everyone whos offended by such a so called objectifying culture as if I did I would be there all fucking day. People are far too easily offended now and male objectification is equaly as prominent in society women arent expected to have a good car, a house, a job, an education, to be confrontational all silent rules of a sort that have been engraved in mens day to day lives or else we are looked at as less of a person. If a woman feels its expected of them to strip down then they are clearly not being assertive enough or applying for bad roles at the end of the day we all make a choice and if they make that choice its on their head no one else to blame thats not discrimination its poor decision making and lack of accepting responsability.

I think it's funny that the majority of women that argue for women's rights are usually nasty and ugly and appear nothing like actual women.

But i think it's empowering, people like what you have, therefore they want it. When you have something people want you are empowered.

Its mostly because the director realises the script is a bit shit so he sort of says to the leading lady; "If you want this pile of wank to sell, your gunna have to show some jubblies"
