Yes, I do believe in aliens, as it is statistically impossible for there NOT to be extraterrestrial life

BUT

I really don't feel like they would fly around in saucers watching us
in all honesty, there is a possibility that we cannot even see such things, as the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum we can see is TINY
And even if we could visually and audibly perceive them, there is very little likelihood that we would see anything familiar or recognizable about them. A race made up of sentient blobs is just as likely as a bipedal, or heck, tripodal race.

It didn't take this to make me start believing.

I believe in aliens because it seems logical. If (as asstro-ohysicists claim) we live in an infinite universe, then every possible thing that could happen, no matter how small the probability, not only could, but likely has.

If we do not live in an infinite universe, then we at least live in one which is big eonugh for the phenomena of other life on another planet to definitely exist.

The probability for intelligent life occuring is (according to Professor Andrew Watson of the University of East Anglia), 0.01 percent over 4 billion years. Per planet. This means that each planet has a 0.01% chance of developing sentient life. There are 100 billion terrestrially similar planets (called exo-planets) in the Milky Way galaxy alone.

Not only is alien life possibly, I would put it as (in the entire universe) mathematically inevitable. Whether that alien life would develop space travel and come to Earth is an entirely separate matter.

Every single star you see in the sky is a sun with another solar system. Each solar system containing god knows how many planets. I think it is actually illogical to assume we are the only form of intelligent life when we can hardly see in front of our own noses when it comes to space travel.

OT: No China's incident hasn't caused me to believe in aliens, I always have.

I think it's ignorant to say we're allone in this universe but I don't believe people who claim to have seen aliens, so I don't belive that this thing was an UFO either.

At least the Chinese admit to it being a military experiment. The US government lied about it every time and used their hired Journalists to calm down the masses.
You wouldn't be talking about this one, would you?

... Because we all know this was a weather balloon, right guys?

I believe in aliens because statisticly speaking the chances of there not being any are absurdly low.
However I also believe that they've never visited this planet and are very unlikely to do so (in the forseeable future). The distances we're talking about here are just too massive.

An endless universe without any other intelligent life would be a very lonely place for humanity, dont you think?

I believe that somewhere in the universe there are probably aliens. Maybe even a lot of different types of them. I voted maybe because it is possible that reality is even more messed up than I suspect are there are not any.

Is it more likely that they fly over Chinese airports without contacting air traffic control than it is for an experimental Chinese military project to fly over a Chinese airport without contacting air traffic control? I doubt it.

lol - I love how the weather balloon is swamp gas. Yes I believe in extra-terrestrial life. However it does seem a bit silly to be labelling unidentified things as 'aliens' all willy-nilly.

While I do think that aliens certainly exist, and intelligent aliens probably exist. I do not however think that that was an alien space craft. It's probably just a comet or satellite. I think I read somewhere that comets and/or meteors crash into Earth quite frequently, but they're very small so you don't need to worry.

They probably exist, space is REALLY big after all.

The question is why come to back-water crap hole like Earth?

At least that was what the newspaper told us.

I believe in Aliens. Though I don't believe that any UFO sightings are alien craft, unless someone can give me undeniable proof.

I believe in aliens but I highly doubt they would come here just to fly accross populated areas suspiciously.

I say it was a military experiment, China is a world power so it´s not hard to believe they could have made something that fitted the description of the U.F.O.
Also, U.F.O. stands for unidentified flying object, so a U.F.O. does not have to be an alien spaceship.

-Demented Teddy
China is not a world power yet. China's military spending is nothing compared to the united states. Hell, they even spend only 30 billion more on the military then us brits. If anything it would be a united states UFO.

In maybe another 20-40 years i do believe chinas GDP will rival americas, though. Once they get most of there citizens out of poverty.
