Poll: ak47 vs m16

Lets say you start a new game and you don`t know anything about it..not even the title..and it asks you which weapon would you prefer...ak47 or m16?

please state why..(keep in mind that you might be facing anything from terrorists to zombies to interdimensional beings to...the latest children in the school trend)

Knowing gaming trends, I don't think there will be that much need for accuracy, so I go for the power instead. After all, they provide an ak47, it's not like the game is going to be unbeatable if I use it.

AK47 has a lot going for it but simply on the basis of games like L4D2 and CSS where I prefer the M16 I voted for that.
I guess, accuracy and rate of fire (assuming its a full auto capable m16)

Its got clearer sights, as far as I'm concerned though, so I'd probably go with it for most incarnations.

Sadly, peaceful negotiations don't work most of the times.

M16. Both of them are instantly recognizable and familiar to nearly anyone who has played an FPS, but I simply prefer the M16. It tends to be a burst-fire weapon in games, which suits my playstyle well. AKs typically sacrifice rate of fire and accuracy for damage, which is nice up close but I feel puts it at a disadvantage at typical assault rifle range.

Plus, its the M16 man! The thing is a classic; way classier than that sand-munching brick the Russians call a gun. Reliability isn't everything; if someone offered me an economy car or a Ferrari, you'd be sure I'd take the sports car.

I read in the zombie survival guide the M16 is a terrible weapon, cant be used as a emergency club (the stock will shatter), hard to maintain and has a tendency to jam
but if its a shooter not a RP
I would still go for the AK47 it looks cool

M16, a civilized weapon for a civilized era of war...

It has superior range and accuracy over the AK and it's recoil is extremely low allowing you to fire shot after shot without needing to readjust after each shot. But on the downside it takes skill and practice to maintain, but if you keep it clean and and well oiled, jams shouldn't be a problem...

I wonder when game developers are going to start realizing that Russians don't even use AK47s anymore. They use AK74Ms.

Im sorry my M16, But if given the choice, AK47. Bigger round and simple Break down can mean all the difference in a fire fight. ( Ak uses 7.62 and M16 Series uses 5.56 )

P.S. Personally I would reach for an M1A

The 47 is a more balanced and easily handle weapon. And there's something to be said for a gun its age still used in major warfare to great degree.

Still, I'd choose, neither, and go with my gun(s) of choice, the 1884 Winchester. Gotta be true to my roots, and thats whta I shoot now.

Scary thing is, I'm better then most adequete people using either of the two poll listed guns.

Clearly you get shot in the head by me because I was standing 200ft away holding an M16.

I see you don't play many videogames, otherwise you'd know that in them bullets just slide off of kung fu masters and ninjas. The only way to beat those is to use your own kung fu master or ninja. This effect however is negated when dealing with an army of kung fu masters or ninjas.

I voted Ak-47. But what I mean by that is AKM in general.

simply has more stopping power because of the heavier 7.62 round

both are just as durable, easy to strip and maintain.
only real down side is that the cock is on the left making full magazine reloads awkward.
