I'd go with the AK. The M16 is more accurate and has better sights, but the M16 fires a lowly .22 caliber round that can't knock down hardly anything. If the enemy is behind an oak tree, the M16 is worthless. The AK's 7.62 mm round can punch through the oak tree pretty easily while the M16 cannot.
The M16 is plastic, and thus if you whack an enemy with it it will break. The wooden AK stock will break the enemies skull instead of the skull breaking it. In close range, the AK far outdoes the M16. IN a long range open field firefight, the M16 will have the edge.
But I would rather have the M1 Garand than either. Very accurate and has a much larger bullet than both (.30-06, though the bullet itself is as big as the Ak (7.62) the casing longer (63mm vs 39mm) and has more powder which means better range and accuracy). Semi auto means less wasted ammo. Aimed shots >>>>> Spray and Pray.
If I had to choose a modern rifle, I'd go with the FN FAL (it uses a 7.62x51mm round, just between the AK and M1).

if i'm not mistaken, AKs are widely regarded as being the more reliable weapon in real world situations. M16s are more of a Jaguar: fancier and more expensive, but more prone to breakdowns.

M16 easy. Its awesome, it'll shoot when you need it to shoot, it's got great accuracy and range, the ability to have a full-auto, three round burst, or single fire feature is a very necessary thing to have (specially in a survival game if ammo is hard to come by. Also I'd rather go with an M16 over a gun that fires about as accurately as an M4 with the barrel sliced off

Depends on a situation, from medium to close range AK, From medium to long range m16.
But i would prefer AK because it is more fun to shoot whit, and takes actuall skil- OH MY GOD STOP BEATING ME WHIT A BASEBALL-BAT!!

M16, be cause it's AMERICAN, and also in most videogames you wont have to clean your gun anyways, so that's a major advantage of the AK platform rendered null. Also I like to be a pussy so I'd like to have a gun I can post up with 300 yards away and still snip kids with
That's true, but it's not like they'd design the game so that there'd be tasks you couldn't perform with the ak47, and since I figure the chances of beating the game are better if I go with running and gunning than if I go for accuracy and distance, I'm going for the ak still.Mimsofthedawg said:
