I think there is, the universe is incomprehensibly large, if we're the only single planet out of trillions that has life on it i'll eat my hat.

I personally don't think aliens have visited us yet though, for all we know we might be the most advanced species.

Purely from a mathamatical standpoint aliens are almost certainly out there. The odds of this being the only one with life on it are astronomically small [small]pun not inteded[/small]. However, the odds of us encountering them are also astronomically small [small]pun fully intended that time[/small].

Well there's like a 99.9% chance of there being life elsewhere, though I doubt we'll come across it, like, ever.

Knowing just how small our window of the universe really is, yes! Yes, I do believe alien life is out there. Is it sentient? Maybe. Is it there, I think so.

Yes the universe is big, so there are probably other life out there.
But I don't believe that there have ever been aliens on earth.

Its just a matter of opinion. Until someone finds facts, any number of reasons or guesses can be put forward.

If the universe is infinite, the chances of life out their at all is basically 100%, I mean apart from anything else, whatever started us of will probably start of another race and at some point in time (or has already).

To flatly refuse the existence of aliens is just naive.

I find it hard to believe that in the endless mass that is space, we are the only living creatures. So yes, I do believe there is some kind of life out there.

How? I ask you, how? How can it be done without otherworldly intervention?
If an extra-terrestrial intelligence had the capability to reach Earth from what would be a considerable distance away, wouldn't they build something a bit more advanced than a stone block?

I don't have to prove my case, you just have to fail in proving yours. You have no evidence, thus, I'm right. We haven't found any evidence supporting that life exists anywhere else other than on Earth, therefore we can conclude that life exists only on Earth. We can't just believe that little green men will descend from Mars and ask to be our friends if we share our M&M's with them; we can only draw conclusions from the data we have gathered so far. If something can't prove its existence, then it doesn't exist. I don't deny the possibility of life, I'm merely working with the evidence given.
-Edit: You still haven't proved me wrong, you've only called an idiot.
Wrong I'm afraid. I throw my hat in the ring of the anthropic principle and it's simple to ask: which is more likely, that in an infinite universe there are literally NO planets such as ours, nor any other kind of life which could exist; or that there is at least one? Richard Dawkins quotes the numbers in the God Delusion, but I can't remember them. Something along the lines of, if there's a billion billion planets out there, and only one in a billion is like ours, there's still a billion planets out there which could support our kind of life.

The chances of ever meeting them or comprehending them are miniscule, but the argument is there.
So given the probabilities, I would say that you do have to prove your point. We're dealing in hypotheticals here, but the numbers are on our side.
you have no idea how far on our side
the universe is constantly expanding (this is fact as all of the other gallaxies are in red shift meaning they are moving away from us) meaning that there are more galxies than we now about currently

there are billions upon billions of galxies with billions of planets within them making it almost impossible for other life (carbon based or otherwise) to not exist
Thanks for the back up you guys, Its about time some one steped in to help shut this guy up.
