Partly this is because I'm pretty sure there are no more legendary Pokemon left except maybe light and dark or flavors, or a legendary earth and wind pokemon. The other part is that now Pokemon has a possibility of being in 3D. Not only 3D as in the slider but as in 3D as in they aren't small flat little sprites anymore, like the two Pokemon games that were on the Gamecube. Do you guys think this will happen, are we ready for it, or do you think there will be an uproar. I say it'll be good, that or the first 3D pokemon game is a Ruby and Sapphire remake. I look forward to it either way, that and the facial burns I'm sure to get from a flamethrower.

EDIT: Apparently I was too confusing upon time of writing. What I'm addressing is the fact that the next Pokemon game will be on 3DS, I'm asking if we want a 3D Pokemon game on par with Pokemon Collesium or that one Pokemon game on GameCube that had that guy with that weird full arm gauntlet that had an awesome bike and a full arm gauntlet and he could steal other people's Pokemon (if someone could remind me of what it was, that'd kick butt.) The poll is addressing your belief on the likelihood that this is the next direction Nintendo is taking Pokemon.

Wut? I don't understand the question. Maybe I am just a little slow, but you are going to have to explain it from the point of view of someone who has never really gotten in to pokemon.

What is this you say?

Are you asking if we want a fully 3D pokemon game?

Edit: Also what the hell kind of option is 'Definate Maybe'?

Wait, what? Are you asking if we want a new pokemon game? Yeah, I guess, but not saying it has to be 3D. Keep doing both - the occasional top-down 2D sprite one, the occasional 3D colosseum style one.

I'm surprised they don't just make a pokeymanns game with all the regions, and all the pokeymanns.
It seems like they're going backwards from G&S which had all the regions ever.

All two of them.

The regions are pretty big to fit them ALL in just one game.

Thread...makes...no...sense...

More Serious...Umm...Interpretation?: So I think what you're asking is if we're going to get another fully 3D Pokemon game. Well, I think my answer would be a maybe. The problem with 3D models is that they take a lot of work to finish a single object/creature, and with 400+ Pokemon, it would be an absolute nightmare. And with graphics always improving, the developers would need to create better models with each game, meaning that inside of the nightmare the developers would be having another nightmare. It's like Inception...only with spiders.

Im going to answer this with one word . Persona . Not even just persona anything SMT . Do you know how many demonds there are in these games ? A freaking lot . Also there are digimon games . Im pretty sure it's doable with pokemon also . As long as EA don't get their grimey hands on it ( yes i know it's unlikely and ea should never get the rights to pokemon but i r afrayed because EA is screwing up a whole heap of things) .

It would be pretty awesome, though.

Why would we ruin a working formula with a transition into a different style?

I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Leave my franchise alone, damn it.

I think if it were to happen, it probably wouldn't be good for the series. The reason I'm saying this is because of the sheer amount of time and expense involved simply in producing working 3d models for every single critter. You've got to remember that Game Freak are now expected to add 100+ new Pokemon into every game, and I'm honestly just waiting until the franchise collapses under its own weight. If it were to all move to 3d, the sudden massive increase in development cost and time might well bring that day about much sooner. At least, that's my thinking.

But to actually answer the question, it's highly probable that it will happen, at least some point in the future. Like it or not, Pokemon's going to be around for a while, if only because it's too profitable to be let go, so at some point in the future it's hugely likely that they will move to 3d. However, I don't think it'll be the next games, at least - after all, it's been 5 generations and the sprites are working just fine for them so far, so if it ain't broke...

I've been waiting for that forever. I was kinda upset that B/W teased us with Reshiram/Zekrom, respectively, being in 3D while the rest of the game we had to play with the 2D sprites. I mean, the animation was mostly really good but whenever the battle cam zoomed in, the sprites got heavily pixelated and it ruined the immersion. I don't like Rumble Blast's 3D either. I'd like full on, Pokemon XD/Battle Revolution 3D.

Obviously, some cuts must be made in terms of texture or animation quality and whatnot. But being in 3D at all makes up for it, in my opinion. There'll definitely be those who absolutely hate it though.

Here's what I think they should do to prevent alot of issues. Start with 3D Pokemon battles in the way of Pokemon: Colosseum, and then if that's a success, begin moving the entire world into 3D.

#1. Persona 4 has a total of 187 demons.

#2. The Persona games have a longer development cycle than a Pokemon game.

#3. There have been very few 3D Digimon games, and all of those have had around 150 or less Digimon.

Yeah, a 3D Pokemon game would be possible, but the developer would have to cut around 75% of the existing Pokemon out of the roster, and the whole appeal of Pokemon is catching them all. When you can't do that, there's a bit of a problem.

Yes, just re-create Red and Blue. I'd buy it. I'd buy a new console just to play it. A fully rendered Kanto would be... fun to say the least.

They'd get cash in on the nostalgia and they only have to render 151 Pokémon and will have the perfect excuse to do so.

Has everyone forgotten Pokemon stadium 1 and 2 for the N64.Granted it was a tournament style game but still 3D so it counts. I personally say with the amount of money and developers Pokemon has, they can make a 3d game of the first three regions in about 2 years.
