Sometimes I'm just not tired. I stayed up for three days straight once because of that. It made me fairly tired by the end though.
I didn't eat anything to keep me up, either.

For the most part though, it's mainly for homework. Assignments, or just work I'm behind in.

I have insomnia, so that's one reason. I also stay up all night when I'm reading a book, gaming, being obsessed with something on the internet, at a friend's house, at a party, watching something awesome, studying, or just because my sleeping schedule is fucked up.

I also didn't sleep for 3 or 4 days straight when I was packing to move because we had to be out by a certain date. Yeah, that was fun...

This place has caused me to stay up all night long a few times as of late. Also Fallout 3, Rock Band 2 with friends, and Oblivion.

I used to do it all the time at these "lock-in parties" at my old church. Pretty much all it was was the entire youth group chasing each other around with NERF guns and playing Halo all night. We watched the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy one night, and I was starting to get sleepy at the end of the third one, just as the sun was coming up.

Just last March, I did it so I could catch a 5:00 van to NYC. There's no way I'd trust myself to get up that early, and 12 people in a van isn't as bad as it sounds when you're asleep for the whole thing. I ended up playing Dead Rising and watching MST3K until it was time to go. Good times, good times.

Parents work night shift and the only time I can yell fuck while playing video games is when there not home. So the only reason I pull all nighters every night is for my vids :)

My beginning drawing class has caused more all nighters than anything else.

Black Friday is another issue.

I'm a complete nerd so me and my friend stay up all night playing Supreme Commander decimating the pathetic very hard difficulty AI.

I have yet to stay up all night do something productive. (Except maybe when I got my Diablo 2 barb up like 60 levels lol).
Ahhhh that was fun. Best time was when we made level 70 windy druids in half a day.

I've pulled many all-nighters, for just about all the reasons listed in the poll, but I willl say one thing not on the poll. There was one infamous evening in college that started as a study session in Ashland WI, myself and the girl I pined for. We ended up driving to canada, raising some hell, got stuck at the border coming back, had some...fun in the border patrol's bathroom, finally got back to WI, and finished studying. We dated for 2 years after that all-nighter.

I like messing up my sleeping cycle because it gives me a reason to pull an all nighter. I usually take long walks around my surroundings or go fishing. The best thing about were i live is that it's daylight all night and more than often its clear weather outside during nighttime and there's no cars or people around either.

Last time i pulled an all nighter i walked too longso i got home around 2-3 pm. When i got home i found that my parents had called the cops and that my dad was loading the hunting rifle to go on a bear killing spree. Afterwards it makes sense though since my hometown and surroundings are famous for having the most bears per squarekilometer in the world.

I tend to do it more frequently than I should really. I've done it when I've had an assignment due the next day, when I've been revising for a test I knew nothing about, when I've lost track playing a game and wanted to finish it before I slept, out drinking until the sun comes up, doing the nasty and once just walking around my town with a couple of friends.

Ehh...when the final Harry Potter book came out, I discovered every single one of my friends was going to the store at midnight to get their copies, so I ended reserving one and going with them...And once I had the book, I had to read it, since I knew they'd be talking about nothing else...>.<

Started at about one in the morning, finished around eight or nine and then had to go to work. Course, I could then gloat that I already knew the ending and most other people didn't since they weren't as lame as I was. Win?

I've never pulled an all-nighter, but I got pretty close with 30 minutes of sleep. I only realized it when I woke up and I was pretty pissed.

However, me and a few friends are planning an all-nighter on the first day (night?) of summer with a night-long session of TF2, Zombie Panic and Left 4 Dead.

Pulled an all nighter playing monster-hunter freedom on the psp with 3 friends, left at 9am to go to a martial arts grading and sparring competition.

The word "myaaagaglglglglghjjjjjjpop" is the only word that can truly describe the intense exhaustion I was feeling.

p.s. not a single cup of coffee either.

Usually, the reason I pull an all-nighter is because I'm gaming and I kinda just forget to sleep. And eat. And drink. But I don't forget to use the bathroom, thankfully.
