I don't like Star Wars... Once Darth Maul died, the series died to me (he was really the only character I cared about, because the dude was badass).

But I have seen all the movies, and I do remember disliking the prequels more, even before I knew that they were universally hated. Couldn't tell you why though.

Though I did enjoy Three, to the degree I can enjoy Star Wars. And Maul was the first one (chronologically), right? Maybe I didn't dislike the prequels...

I really dislike the prequels because they're executed so poorly, to the point where I cannot even appreciate the effort put in to George Lucas's universe.

i actually liked the phantom menace because the extreme amount of suck leading up to the darth maul fight made it all the sweeter to watch. the other 2 had decent action scenes, but not much else.

i hate the prequels not so much for not living up to the originals, but for shitting all over everything that happened in the original trilogy. it turned vader into a whiny prick, turned the mystical aspect of the force into pseudo-genetics, turned a neat little bit of exposition (the clone wars) into a boring web of economics and annoying robots...and introduced an insanely annoyingly character whose stupidity doomed the universe to the crapsack state of the original trilogy.

obi-wan was still cool as ian mcgregor though.

Re-watched them some time ago for shits and grins, and it is hilarious how noone gives a crap if those lines are done right, at some point I swear they were just reading a teleprompter.
Don't even want to get started on Anakin Crywalker.

Way to make quality movies...

I really like the Phantom Menace, not because it's a great film but it's the only Star Wars film I can regard as "mine", I grew up with it and while I like the original trilogy as a whole much more than the prequels, Episode I has a special nook in my brain and I expect it'll always be there.

I liked the the first three episodes. Ep. 1 had the pod race and darth maul. Ep. 2 had Geonosis. And Ep. 3 had General Grievious, the Bad guy who was a complete pussy and would destroy an entire ship to kill some people who killed about 5 of his droids.

Well I am glad to see there are people who like them, and I do know they aren't masterpieces. Still, I'm surprised so many are neutral on them; I always figured it would be a "love it or hate it" deal.

i quite like them what i dont get is the hate of the midiclorians i thought of them as parasites feeding off the "aura" of a person so the more powerful the person the more food for them hence more of them rather than them being a cause they where an effect of the individual having force potential

The action in the prequels is awesome, the love part is kind of overdone in 3, I don't really find Jar Jar annoying, and the visuals are pretty.

I do like them.

Also, the intro to #3 was tense as fuck, and I loved it.
I didn't find Jar-Jar annoying either. People said he was a racist stereotype thrown in to entertain the kids. I say, a) there's nothing racist about him, he's just a klutz even in his society, and b) I don't think appealing to kids was an issue. Seriously, what kid didn't want a lightsabre.

I voted neutral, mainly because Ewan McGreggor made up for every shortfall that became of each episode.

I'm neutral just because I did it wrong. I watched 1-6 for the first time, in order. I'm pretty neutral to the whole series because I fucked up

Preach it, brother.

I don't *hate* the prequels. They were a different kind of movie. Original trilogy has plot and character, prequels have special effects and cool lightsaber fighting. It's about what we should have expected. Maybe we should be thankful Lucas didn't have more money than God when he made the original movies.

Same thing with Transformers. Part of me hated to see what became of Optimus and the gang when somebody threw Michael Bay at them. Another part of me is just happy to see my childhood heroes returning in any form. They were not the movies I would have made, not the movies I think most of the fans would have made, but you just try and enjoy it for what it is.

Hey, you know I would still love me a lightsaber more than almost anything, but as a kid, damn blasters were cool. I wanted one so bad. LAZERZZZ PEW PEW *scorch mark on the local bully's Mom's car, he gets it trouble*.

The books were good, but the movies were terrible. Great concept with poor execution, I guess.

I liked the first one, the next two killed it.

And am I the only person in the world who thought Jar-Jar Binks wasn't terrible?
