Chrome's like a goddamn virus. No matter how many times I delete it, it keeps on reinstalling itself. Apparently using Google Earth means that I want Chrome, too.

Edit: And I second the notion that IE is underrated. I use it a lot and it works just fine, while Firefox crashes the Flash Player Plugin quite frequently.

For me, it depends on what i'm doing. Just surfing the web or reading something I use google chrome. If I want to go over to say... Kongregate and play some flash games I play it on Firefox, and if neither of those work when they should I get out Safari.

I have no idea why it gets so much bad press.
My grandma is faster than IE. That's the only and enough reason. Seriously, there's this thing called GPU with tens or hundreds of graphics cores yet it still hogs the CPU at it. Chrome is smarter in this respect.

IE9 seems to address the issue, but it is still beta and craps out too often.

EDIT: GPU-Z is the utility I used to see the GPU load... I meant just "GPU" in the sentence.
EDIT2: Maybe they both use it, but this far, my computer gets slower and slower just with IE stuff open, so...

Both are good. Once you get used to the somewhat simplified interface, Chrome is significantly more stable. I've never had a single problem with Chrome, whereas Firefox can sometimes degenerate into a buggy, crashy mess (both on my current, up to date, newish machine and on my old Linux based laptop). Also, if you have an Android phone, Chrome-to-phone is surprisingly useful.

That said, I still use Internet Explorer for some things, but my usage of it is decreasing significantly.

Firefox, more addons like [blank], mouse gestures, youtube video downloader, a Prinny theme, web developer plugins. Google chrome just didn't have the awesome stuff.

Well, for starters, Firefox's flash playback is often glitchy, out of synch, etc, even running in Linux. That's a benefit of IE over Firefox right there.

Chrome is a light, sleek browser with all the speed you could ask for. Firefox is a massive program with an incredible, powerful range of features and plugins. I'm using Chrome right now, but I tend to use Firefox to play any flash video/shockwave apps. I also use firefox for any secure transactions, as chrome seems to have issues with a lot of secure certificates.
Which is better? They both have their uses.

Oh yeah, and Internet Explorer has one use as well: if you're running a 64-bit version of windows, it has terrible 32-bit emulation, and thus any browser other than IE64 runs like shit under it.

If you're going to be browsing a lot of questionable sites use Firefox. Firefox has a good selection of add ons that block active scripts.

Chrome is more lightweight and should probably be your default browser. If you want it I would recommend Chromium instead, it's the same browser but with no usage tracking or auto-updating. It's a fair trade off if you ask me.
This was one of my issues with Chrome. A colleague of mine had to bring up his browser during a presentation, and all seated got a, shall we say, explicit look at his browsing history from the front page list. Could have been embarrassing for him if anyone had been tactless enough to point it out.

Personally, I'm just more comfortable with Firefox, but I haven't really used Chrome much. Might try it again though, to see if it really is faster.

Firefox, because I like the mods for it. Use Chrome if you need something, fast.

Firefox is faster therefore firefox > chrome. I don't know if my computer is special or what but chrome is actually slower on both my PC and my netbook.
