Huh. I'm going to check that out.theashigaru said:I prefer Opera over either of them. Opera seems to have all the extensions I want, except they're already built in. Speed Dial and mouse gestures are things I use all the time; I can barely go back to Firefox which doesn't have Speed Dial. The speed is great and Opera Unite is a handy little feature sometimes.
Opera 11's tab stacking is most certainly something which will soon be adopted by everyone else. I can manage a butt-load of pages with ease now. Great for doing research papers and stuff like that.
But it's Google...chromed!Daystar Clarion said:Firefox.
come on, it's a fox... that's on fire!
this seems to be a good choice, compared to chromebrumley53 said:Chromium, it's what google Chrome is based off but isnt plagued with google shit everywhere and it runs faster. its also compatible with the fancy google chrome addons.
I laughed so hard reading this. Thanks for the lulz.Zeithri said:If Chrome and Fox would be people, I'd have a polygamic relationship and threesomes.
It notifies you and blocks flash java etc... from working, if that hasn't shown up its probably because of fire fox's LACK of protection that already allowed scripts that stopped chrome from picking anything up. also how would you know? and why would you go to these sites?Generic Gamer said:Oh dear God, that would be a nightmare! I know I've had encyclopedia dramatica on there before but thank god it was just the index page. Chrome is a nice browser but it suffers in the same department a lot of modern net technology does, it doesn't grasp that there's certain things you don't want to share or to have readily accessible.RebellionXXI said:This was one of my issues with Chrome. A colleague of mine had to bring up his browser during a presentation, and all seated got a, shall we say, explicit look at his browsing history from the front page list. Could have been embarrassing for him if anyone had been tactless enough to point it out.
Personally, I'm just more comfortable with Firefox, but I haven't really used Chrome much. Might try it again though, to see if it really is faster.
I've never noticed it work. I've had pop ups and scripts run all the time in Chrome. Also, if you're going to browse a shady site you probably don't want something that reports usage to a private company.Plazmatic said:except chrome has it already built in.
im just saying it never lets it through for me, and the only thing different that you have done is use Firefox.Generic Gamer said:I've never had it block active content on any of the sites I've visited, I've had the same window open in two browsers and I'm telling you that a properly outfitted Firefox stops stuff that Chrome lets through. I've never received a message saying that Chrome has shut down active content. Now messages saying the flash player crashed? Had those!Plazmatic said:It notifies you and blocks flash java etc... from working, if that hasn't shown up its probably because of fire fox's LACK of protection that already allowed scripts that stopped chrome from picking anything up. also how would you know? and why would you go to these sites?
And yes I am referring to several kinds of questionable sites. Pornography, torrent sites and things like ED. In that order I visit those sites for pornz, warez and lulz. Firefox blocks ads, pop ups, pop unders and everything except the content I specifically allow. Chrome loads the whole lot.
