I love Assassins Creed but the ending of the 3rd confused and stressed me. So to avoid dwelling on the confusing end, I bent my tiny mind on deciding which of the three assassins I preferred.

Yes it was obviously Ezio because he has the most games, the most character development and he is Chris Redfield (and Sonic the Hedgehog apparently). But I am curious as to who is the more prefered out of Connor and Altair. So to kick that off I have chosen Altair probably because I am a huge fan of the first game's setting (but not its controls), I also found the cold warrior monk attitude was rather to my liking, it just feels more like what a deadly killer should act like.

You are probably wondering why I did not just make a Connor vs Altair poll, my answer is that I would be torn to pieces by people asking me where the hell the Ezio option was. Telling me he is their favourite so I can "just deal with it", and bombarding my inbox with various memes.

It will be interesting to see who is the favourite assassin and maybe I will be wrong, and those who just finished AC3 will be charmed by Connor's various hairstyles, quaint Native American speech and childlike naivety. Or maybe Altairs out of place american accent will prove best.

But my money is on the Spaghetti eating, Pope Basher.

I like Altair a lot better in Revelations.

Mostly because they really fleshed out his character, but also because they got rid of that ridiculous American accent.

Ezio is still my favourite though.

Altair, I loved feeling like I was an assassin tourist. Plus, I loved his sections in Revelations. Especially the part where he turns into a wizard, that was pretty fucking awesome.

I didn't really like Ezio, he seemed to break character often. Hell, in Revelations he no longer does the 'rest in piece' bit.

I'm leaning toward Connor. I didn't care for Altair in the first game because he was so cocky and arrogant, although I admit they fixed that in later games. Still, first impressions are hard to shake.

Ezio needed to grow up a lot of the time. That's how it seemed to me anyway. He didn't take things seriously and seemed like too much of a playboy at times. He was the funniest of the three characters though, I'll give him that. But what really made me throw my hands up is his little speech at the end of AC II:

"I'm done killing, blah blah blah." EXCUSE ME?! You just slaughtered your way through how many innocent soldiers who had no idea what's going on and are just doing their jobs, but you're NOT going to kill the man responsible for everything you've suffered through the past few years? Amazing logic right there. I hope he comes back to bite you in the--oh, wait. He totally DOES!

I'm liking Connor. I think he could lighten up a bit, but I understand where he's coming from so I can forgive him for being a little moody. Plus, his outfit is blue. I'm so tired of Assassin Red.

Same thoughts here. Especially on Altair's lack of an fitting accent in the first game.

You would think he was from Ohio or something.

Same guy who voiced him though.

I actually prefer his accent in 1, but that may be due to nostalgia and the awful voice acting in Bloodlines
Really?

Could have fooled me.

I wonder why they didn't do that to begin with...

After I played Assassins Creed 3...I have to admit I like Ezio much better. I love his voice and his personality then the others...

and it feels he actually accomplishes something and feels like he has.

Ezio. I never played 1 or revelations so I know fuck all about Altair, and Conor is decent, but Ezio has one thing that he doesn't. Swag.

I like Altair the most simply because he was the most intimidating of the four due to them
never showing us his full face.
He also seemed like the most competent of the assassins while Ezio just kind of blundered through everything.

Altair all the way! He had style. Ezio always rubbed me slightly the wrong way for some reason, I can't exactly put my finger on it. Although admittedly, I still haven't seen Connor, so I can't exactly judge him fairly. But I doubt he can top Altair.

But judging from this

He'll at least be a runner up.

Yeah Altair was sweet. My favourite thus far.

I loved the heck out of Assassin's Creed (1) and his sections in Revelations.

Haythem! such a badass!....(seriously though first thought was THIS guy is a boss)

anyway

Altair followed by connor are my favorites....Altiar was a professional..and Connor is similar in that he has a more serious air about him (in a more "native american" type way...them native americans are always very serious)

Ezio for whatever reason I found it hard to warm up to him

Now I haven't played AC3(waiting for the PC version) but from what I've read Connor can in no way beat Ezio in terms of character. Ezio himself has a cliched story(revenge, something we have seen THOUSANDS of times before) but it's the way the story is told that works for him(especially when coupled with the beautiful aesthetic of Renaissance Italy which he finds himself in). We also see Ezio's life from birth to death(see AC:Embers) and that is something we rarely get in games. Last but certainly not least, the VOICE ACTING. Roger Craig Smith is amazing as this guy and it really helps build Ezio up.

Altair in the first game had a absolutely cringeworthy and out of place voice actor and from what I've seen on youtube, the guy doing Connor sound wooden as f**k(but at least he is more appropiate in this context). Although Altair appears in Revelations for maybe 15 minutes total, the better VA this time makes all the difference and I found myself wishing that I could play the first game with this guy voicing him.

Connor may be cool but I don't see anyone soon beating Ezio in a poll about AC characters. AC1 was seen as a flawed gem with extremely repetitive gameplay but it was AC2(even with its crappy DRM) that brought a lot of people to the franchise. Altair may be the granddaddy of the assassins but for many people Ezio is the face of the AssCreed games. For now at least.

I prefer Altair. He was a badass. He was arrogant because he knew he was good (if not the BEST) at what he did. Simpler equipment and uniform too.

Ezio is silver here. But that's only because I like his arc with...whoever that chick is in Revelations. And I did like da Vinci.

Conner last because fricking SUBTITLES. I didn't expect to be reading so many subtitles. At least Ezio kept it to his RIP thing. And he's cocky for no reason.

With that said, I like the combat in AC3. Big groups, flows a little bit better, I like the dual kill thing.

I like the extra options Ezio had in AC2. But the groups were too small so I never really got to use all my abilities in one fight. I was always comfortable. And I did like training assassins.

I liked the setting better in AC. It was refreshing to play in a medieval setting that didn't involve wizards.

Altair. The first thing he does in a game is kill a dude. He's awesome and has the coolest and most appropriate assassin's outfit.

Ezio was just an annoying jock douchebag emo pussy.

I always preferred Altair. Ezio just seemed like an assassin by chance, a noble playing hero just to get his kicks. Altair just seemed like how an assassin should act and behave, and his imposing personality fitted the environment more.

Not to mention I found the missions and characters boring by comparison. The Third Crusade is just simply perfect setting for games like this. Hell, I still love it even though I beleive they screwed up the representation of The Third Crusade immensley. How can Barbarossa not warrant a mention or even his son Frederik of Swabia? How can Saladin have such a small role in the game? Baldwin IV the Leper King? Philip II of France?

I have only played AC1 and AC2 and I will probably never play the others.

Ezio is like Renaissance Batman with Tony Stark's personality. He's fucking AWESOME.
Went head to head with a whole empire and killed EVERY mofo remotely connected to the killing of his father and brother. He was a one-man rampaging revenge machine. He had a magnificent story arc from birth to retirement. From petulant teenager to sage master of assassins. Oh, and the guy has his own city, AND he's the landlord of all of Rome and Istanbul.
Ezio is easily the best.

Connor is kinda...naive. Sort of sees the world in black and white. Seems like kind of an honorable dude, and a naturally gifted assassin.
He's pretty cool.

Altair is kind of a bland jerk. He got mildly more interesting as the old mentor in Revelations, but he's still just....boring, compared to his more modern brethren.

Haythem, who didn't love Haythem with his charmingly King's accent and general badassery...

My issue with Conner is that he didn't seem to develop, Ezio developed relationships and that marlarky as we played through his life. Connor just got a little more angsty, although I think sequences 9 and 10 were a fantastic piece of development for the series in general.... Oh yeah who did they involve?
