No, you aren't a bad person and bravo to you. It's good that one of em died. Now when other teens in the area think they can drink and drive, they'll think twice and hopefully not do it. Also with the death of that moron the roads are a little bit safer. Lucky they plow into a minivan that had babies or toddlers in it. Oh and if the world got rid of these idiots a bit faster then the developer that died a few months ago due to a drunk kid wouldn't have(and the maaaaaaaany others who die due to drunk drivers). No remorse from me and good riddance.

You're probably right, but in that situation it's best to keep shut and donate.
Death is a touchy subject.
Hell no. That'd practically be extortion!

If they're/were anything like the waste-of-space girl trio in my old school then I'd decline, try and reminisce about the good times, find none, then think "good riddance".

Naturally I'd do this internally. I strongly agree that they're retards who brought it down on themselves in a fit of karmic justice, but I wouldn't say that to their friends.

Essentially you're not a worse person than me, though possibly a bit more tactless. ;)

No one really deserves death in my opinion.
That opinion is almost completely alien to me. We're all going to die. Some sooner than others. It is the only way to truly progress in/from this world. In my opinion, what noone really deserves is eternal life.
Still, I can't find good reason to prevent stupid people's actions from catching up with them. Maybe it would have simply been best to lie here. Claim you have no money and not insult the dead and/or critically wounded. If you need aid with that, imagine someone stabs you and sends their buddies to the hospital to laugh at you and say you deserved it for not walking out of the house in a full suit of chain mail.
That is a pretty bad simile. It's more like someone laughing at news that you got robbed when you decided to walk through a major city's criminal quarters at dusk with loads of money sticking out of your pockets, singing this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sNJhX0x7yI] song.
You could even say it's worse, since those people endangered the lives (and property) of others.

Oh my goodness! How horrible!

Their poor car...I'd donate a little bit to help fix the car up; it can go to a more responsible person!

Also, I admire all three girls! The one that died, and the other two who are in a coma. Thank goodness they crashed before they hit an innocent bystander! Also, kudos for them for not crowding our prison system! Also, for testing out our new universal health care plan!

Bless their unintentionally efficient souls.
Just when I thought my day couldn't get any better, I read this. Thank you.

So this Tuesday 3 girls went drunk driving at 11 AM and crashed. 1 died 2 are in a coma. One of there friends came around asking for a donation to help pay there medical bills. I declined and said if theyre dumb enough to go drunk driving at 11 in the morning on a snowday when the roads are bad then they can face the consequence and pay for it themselves. I got a lot of dirty looks and i was told i was being selfish. Does this mean im a jerk or would you have done the same?
You are a horrific nightmare of a douche bag.

Not wrong though.
How is he, If the girls all had the terrible idea to go driving...drunk...on a snowday? it was comming to them. That stands on the same as..."we had sex but I didnt expect the baby, Pay for the diapers pleese" No, there were risks. If you are old enough to drink and drive you are old enough to face the consequences of it all.

No you're not a bad person, but it sounds like something a douchebag would say. I agree with you completely, but you shouldn't have been so harsh to the friend. It's too soon.
You should have just declined and moved on. After all, the friend must have be really upset already, the last thing they needed to hear was something like that. Think before you speak next time.

No your not. However I guess that's life, they shouldn't of done it. If they weren't drunk driving I might have a little bit of sympathy, but you can't go on the pity plea. Imagine if someone was drunk on snowy roads and crashed and killed someone else they would be despised by the community, oh well.

Yes but only because of your grammar

Even if you're right you should just keep things like that in your head

 unless they pushed you to explain why you wouldn't donate, it seems that it was unnecessary to volunteer the details.
Try to be polite, do what you do, but be polite until pushed. A modicum of decency costs nothing and can get you far, "imho"

I think you have a fair point. It was their own fault for one of them drinking and driving, and for the other 2 letting her and getting in the car with her, and even with harsher driving conditions.

I got the same thing when some idiots in my town got hit by a train because they were weaving around the guard rails.

You deliberately voiced an opinion you knew would annoy the other person rather than tell a lie that would have taken the same amount of time and been just as effective.
There are, of course, people who are against lying by principle.

I do however agree that going out of your way to tell the solicitor that their friends were stupid is unneccesary and a bit of a dick-move. Personally, I would just decline donating. If they asked for an explanation, I would have told them the truth. Lying to humour others is not something I consider a good deed.

You said what you did because you felt clever and wanted everyone else to know how clever you are at the expense of their feelings.
Sorry for cutting out Lord Vader here, but Generic Gamer summarises my thoughts on the issue.

You could have easily spared the poor guy grieving his dead friend the suffering by saying something else, but you ended up telling him his friend deserved to be killed, and that the other two deserved to end up in coma.

It is appalling to say the least.

You are 100% right. I would have told them to just be thankful they didn't kill anyone innocent with their Stupidity.

Let me propose something for you. If your family or close ones were comatose and you were going around looking for donations to pay for their medical bills, and then someone says the exact same words to you that your family deserved what they got, would you not consider that guy an asshole? Granted, I don't think you're selfish in not donating, but you are still an asshole for telling them that. It would've been a lot easier to just say "Sorry, can't." and just leave it at that.
