I don't know how to describe this, so just bear with me.
Let's say there's a room with a TV in it, the TV is on but the volume is muted or at least so low you can't hear it. Can you walk past that room and still KNOW the TV is on, without looking in?
It's like this extremely high-pitched hum or buzz or something, but I've always been able to tell if there was a TV on somewhere nearby, even if there was no sound.
I'd always assumed everyone could "feel" that, but only recently people are telling me they've never heard of this. Like, they could be standing right in front of a TV that was on but had no sound or picture, and they swore it wasn't on.
