It gets so much praise but I really hate it. I'll weigh up the pros and cons.

PROS -
- It was a little fun I guess.
- The game world is beautiful.
- The ending was incredible.
- The characters seemed human.

CONS -
- Most of the time I'm playing it and when I'm not playing it I don't want to touch it with a 10ft pole.
- Glitches and bugs.
- While the characters were pretty fleshed out and human, that doesn't mean they aren't unlikeable pricks.
- This may be a misunderstanding but the ending made no sense, why did the army come after him? He did what he was told to do.
- I usually like travel time such as in Just Cause 2 but the travel in this game was excruciating.
- It might be different if I played Red Dead Revolver but I really couldn't give two shits about John Marston.

I have seen this thread so many fucking times.

Some of your Cons are downright moronic.

You are never the only one.

I thought we got rid of the "Am I the only one" threads.

Where is the discussion value again?

I know my cons are moronic, but in my eyes they're still cons XD

To see what people like about it, I want to know the things someone doesn't like about it if they like it and vice versa.

Have nothing against the game, just found it couldn't keep my attention for more than maybe 30 minutes, same problem i've had with every GTA except the first one, that top down view just did it for me

Then shouldn't the second one be good as well?

Yes, Yes you are... XD

Really though it was an awesome game all 'n all. yea the glitches and bugs did destroy the immersion from time to time but hey I loved playing that game cause of all the little things.

No game is perfect but that was a good game. Now that is not to say you have to like all good games, some genre/stetting/styles just don't suit some people. Unless you're from texas then yes, you have to like this game.

"It was a little fun," and "Most of the time I was playing it I didn't want to touch it with a 10ft pole" are not pros and cons, those are your opinions on the game as a whole. They also contradict each other.

No, you're never the only one.

I found the game at least interesting, but didn't feel tempted to delve into any of the side quests, and getting any extra outfits was excruciatingly frustrating.

The entire premise of the game was that he was being extorted, with huge amounts of subtext that he was screwed every which way, and who honestly didn't see it coming? He did their dirty work and turned on him to cover it up. It's a basic storyline.

Marston even said it himself: "People don't forget. Nothing is forgiven."

-Your first Con doesn't make any sense to me.
-2nd didn't apply at all in my case, but bad luck for you I guess.
-So what?
-Story made sense.
-Can fast travel.
-Haven't even heard of revolver.

1. They're supposed to be pricks, it's kinda the point of the game.

2. for the love of god man use spoilers!
Because the proto FBI guy (who's name escapes me) wanted to see him dead and until then didn't have authority over the army.

3. Then use fast travel.

4. They're largly unrelated, 'cept for a few references they might as well be different franchises.
Revolver is a spaghetti western action game.
Redemption is an open world deconstuction of the romantic old west, it's pure opinion which is better.

You're never the only one, ever.

If it's not to your tastes, then it's noit to your tastes, making a thread about it is just attention whoring.

Because the government is evil, duh.

Seriously though. It got down right hilarious when the mayor bitches about the intrusive incompetent government to the Sherrif who then bitches about the intrusive incompetent government to John, before being himself bitched at by some farmers for being the intrusive incompetent government. I halfway expected some kid to wander by at this point and accuse his parents of being part of the "Damn Guv'ment". I mean, when all these people who can't do shit without some outside help from John even down to the necrophiliac comic relief bi-sexual grave robber start espousing their opinion on how much they hate the government and prize self-reliance you have to wonder how valid their complaints are. Ultimately I had my fill and turned the sound off before ceasing play altogether. It wasn't a bad game but i could do without a directed political propaganda bombardment that would make fox news blush.

It was a good game, but very much overrated in my opinion. I don't get the whole "the story was so gripping and the characters were so great" thing going on with it. The story and characters were good, but they were nothing amazing.

There should be a rule that stops new people from posting until they stop being retarded.

In any case, Red Dead Redemption is a great game. You are never the only one. Leave now, and never come back.
