Considering I could re buy everything I own for about $10,000 if that, go right ahead. I don't have anything that isn't replaceable anyways.

I don't own a house, I don't own a car, I own nothing of value as of the moment. However, legally speaking, I own my dog; therefore I would have to decline as I would not sell him out.

2.5 million AND I get a chance to buy some new clothes first? Sold, though whoever's offering this either knows something I don't know or never learned the value of a dollar. I have very few truly sentimental possessions, and I realize that the memories of them are the important bits, not the objects themselves.

I'll pay you $2.5 million to read the OP.

I voted yes, but I think it would be hard in 10 years to realize that there is no record of my past, since all my photos are gone. 2.5 million is a probably 1000x my networth atm, but... aww fuck it I'll start my life over for that :p

Joke's on you, my beneficiary, for you inherit my remaining $28,000 in student loans, which is alone probably worth more than all of my possessions and bank accounts and retirement plans.

It would suck to loose a few of the things I collect, but I would have enough money to buy all that again, if I can find it. Seriously 2.5 million spaced out over 60 years is still over $40,000 a year. With my loans paid off, I could live comfortably without working for the rest of my life (without a family to take care of, that is).

Yup. I generally just own a lot of junk now anyway. I'll give him everything I have, even my degree, even the miscellaneous birthday presents of old that I have lying around that mean so much to me, and he will give me $2.5 million, and then I will buy a house in Tuscany, a top of the range PC and all of my old games again, and then just... I don't know, live happily for the rest of my life? I don't own anything at the moment that's more valuable than long term happiness.

Could you please eleborate on what you mean with everyting? Does it include documentation such as identity, contacts, degrees, etc etc. If so then probably not. I mean how would I own 2.5 million dollars without a bank account? Cash wouldn't be an option as I'd have no way to contain it, a check would be difficult as you'll need to show ID when you'll try to hand a check of 2.5 million in the bank. I guess a suitcase might work, but I just handed in everything I owned, I don't have a suitcase. I'd have to think about it, but probably not.

Considering i'm living in an appartement which i don't own and i don't really have anything i would put real "emotional value" on, and the most expensive things i own are my PC, my bass and my cell phone which would be around 1.4k together 2.5 Mill would be a great deal :D

Hell no.

£1.5m for everything? The house? The business? Not to mention gifts and mementos from friends and family?

I'd probably just laugh in his face.

On the surface, that seems like a good deal. I mean, with 2.5 mil, I can buy the shit again, pay my student loans, and still have money to spare. But I'd reject the offer.

Reason being is because I have in my possesion quite a few family heirlooms left to me in '95, '97, and '05, when three of my grandparents died. Also, I was given a stuffed monkey named George by my mom's dad when I was three, and I've had it every since. I love that stuffed monkey, and no amount of money will ever convince me to part with it (or indeed, anything that belonged to my grandparents).

I would, I mean, all I own right now, is a netbook, a bass guitar, a closet full of clothes, a digital alarm clock, and like $20 worth of food, oh and a 1970 dodge polara, sitting in a parking lot on the other side of the country from me... so yeah, if that is worth $2.5 million to someone, cool, I didn't know my pittance was worth more than I'm likely to earn in 200 years.

Wait a second... "everything I own" includes my body parts and internal organs, as well as anything technically belonging to someone else that I own... depending on how far the definition of "pet" goes.

Still, gonna have to pass on this one.

Of MY stuff? So you get a van, a 4 year old computer, a 4 year old netbook, some action figures, 5 crt tv's, consoles and an arcade stick. I guess my steam account is worth the most.
Either way, everything else is either rented (house and property) or in my wife's name. Do I get to finish the taco?

I own nothing that can't be replaced relatively easily and cheaply. I wouldn't even scratch the surface of the .5 million replacing them.

Offer accepted, screw a few hours, I walk with him to the bank and start stripping.

I'd say I'd only take 2 million if I could keep my online accounts. 2 million is more than enough to just buy my stuff back.

I would take the money in a heart beat, buy only 7 sets of clothes with a pair of leather sandals (strap kind) and some sneakers and head to travel around the world. Moving from place to place every 3 months, or 6 months, or 2-4 years if i really like a location. I would live and travel off of 7% interest from the Investment Portfolio. (if you aren't making 7%, then keep educating yourself on passive income and investments and living frugally.) $175,000 of passive income to your account, accessible throughout 90% of the world's countries is a lot more then you will ever need to be happy.

If you need more, you are just greedy, lazy, or not creative, or a critical thinker, unless you are trying to free a specific ethnic group from every having to work again.

No. Well does things in the family count?

I have a very nice house with a plot of land. There's even a family tree and crest which is virtually irreplaceable.
