I'd say let it out in small portions.
Trust me I've bottled my negative emotions for years and it has come to bite me in the ass physically and mentally.

But don't make a huge deal out of it, if your angry let it show but don't look like an ass in the process.

I don't like to be angry in public. I don't like making people feel uncomfortable.

This man speaks the truth.

Why not play video games and listen to screamo with friends? Best of both worlds.

I've been very angry lately. No particular reason why, I've just been very, very angry lately.
Whats up? Daddy never bought you a pony?

Everyone gets angry, its how you express your anger. If someone does something to make you angry, some sort of dick move, then there is nothing wrong with letting them know youre not impressed. Talk it through and be assertive rather than aggressive. If you can resolve it then you'll start feeling calmer, quicker.

Otherwise I drive, run, do BJJ, kick boxing and MMA. A hard training session is good to get any pent up aggression out.

Dealing with anger is part of life, we all do it. How well you deal seperates adults from children.
... Hold on a minute... You do Blow Job Joy too?
Well thats mature. I actually do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, you should try it, being choked unconscious would sure dampen your whiney, emo, teenage angst issues.

But getting sucked off does relax me. You might find out one day.
*Whistles* Whoa, man. I'm just joking around. Thanks for the emo comment, by the way. Really makes me feel good.

Just kidding, I really don't care.

Probably a good combination of both would be best.

Just don't do what I do and punch walls. Hurts the knuckles and scares the cats. >.<
girlfriend did that for a while untill she broke her knuckles...wouldn't advise it.

Depends on the situation. Sometimes it merits open expression of anger, sometimes it's better to rage internally.

If I'm in the car and someone pisses me off, I can spend up to a minute cursing at them and all they hold dear. That's fun.
Otherwise, I just bottle it up to be unleashed at a later, unspecified date.

Drive/Walk around town and try to find an old appliance lying around on the curb. Get home and put it somewhere tucked away in the house. When you feel pissed off have at the machine with a prybar/hammer/sledge hammer/breaching tool.

I'd say privately. Mostly, because expressing your anger publicly might very well result in collateral damage - people could easily get hurt, psychically or sometimes physically.

My way of dealing with anger is to keep it in myself until I can't really hold it anymore and then burn it out on inanimate objects. A less brutal way comes through sport, with the added bonus of not actually expressing your anger, just using it to fuel your play.

I'll go with public. A good bit of venting is getting it out there. Also, at the risk of sounding like a whiny brat, one of the reasons these emotions exist is to get support. Public does a better job of that than private.
