Anime is my addiction, I'm into Shojo more than Shonen. I can't stand four episodes of brooding masculine characters fighting in these long drawn out fights and inner monologues. Bleach being the exception to this. Soul Eater is also ok. I love the romance anime. I have to watch it. The art style attracts me as the animation style gets better and the way Japanese flows and the way things are presented in the anime are funny and really intriguing at the same time. Anime seems to get such a bad wrap because of a a few select shows some people use as examples for the whole of anime. Also English Dub is generally always terrible.

I have watched it from time to time, rarely anymore. *Shrug*

I was most interested in things such as .hack/sign, Bleach, and Shaman King.

Oh, and of course, as my avatar would seem to suggest.. Full Metal Alchemist.

Yeah I like anime. It's just like everything else, some are good, some average and then there is the shit.

I like some Anime, and hate some anime. It's a mix for me, although I'll say that Death Note is probably the only one that I'll admit to being a fan of openly.

I'm on the fence. I think it has great potential and id like to enjoy it, but so far i just cant. I mean it often looks cool, but the ideas and characters just irritate me so much.

I hate anime, not because I don't like art style or anything, infact I keep up with the latest episodes in some but anime turned my brother into a mindless drones who scares little children. He is known to laugh in public because he is thinking about anime and skips chances to hang out with friends to watch anime and read manga. That's the only thing I have against it.

I'm part of an anime club, I'd say I like it quite a bit. Though I don't believe I love it as much as some of the other people there. I've attended one convention and god no I'd never cosplay at one.

I love some animes.
To the point of almost being a fanboy.
But I keep it to myself when I see someone bashing my love.
*Glares evilly at basher. you know who you are. well, maybe not*

There's good and bad. LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE WORLD.

Some of the good:

Witch Hunter Robin
Irresponsible Captain Tylor
RahXephon
Cowboy Bebop
Mobile Suit Gundam: 08th MS Team
Trigun
Cromartie High School
Ghost in the Shell: SAC (first and second seasons)
Patlabor 1 and 2
Battle Angel
Special Duty Combat Shinesman
Macross
Macross Plus

This is a tiny list based off of the top of my head and whatever I could see on my video shelf. The reason I bring this list up is that if you've seen fewer than 3 of the anime on this list and think all anime is horrible, I have no respect for your opinion. The worst anime I think I've ever seen is Fafner, though. So if you ever feel like committing suicide through TV watching, I *recommend* it. Fafner is the Eragon of anime.

Hate most of it, but there have been the occasional bright spots in the past 20 years or so.

Well. More "hate" than "like". This art style is not my thing.
Which art style? There's almost as many as there are artists...
Overall style. You know how overall style of western cartoons are (or at least were) thick outlines? That's what i'm talking about. Come to think of it,i don't like anime staples - magical girls, humongous robots, katanas and samurai - too much either. It's just not my thing.

Only exception is Tegen Toppa Gurenn Lagann, which is awesome (no,didn't watch it. But read a fair bit,and would like to).
That's just the thing though: anime HAS no overall style.

It's like comparing Spider-Man to Ultimate Spider-Man.

No overall style, huh? I consider methods of drawing characters' faces (the eyes, somewhat sharp chins) and hair (seriously. Anime artists love pointy hair) to be the "overall style". The settings may change, but hey - Tom & Jerry,Dexter's Laboratory, and Spongebob Squarepants are all classic western cartoons!

Not to mention even more diverse art styles, like:

I like anime, but only to laugh at it. I find it's absurdness, and the heavy focus on sexual stuff, to be pretty funny.
