I usually watch it in the japanese with english subtitles
Although for some animes, i watch it in english dubbed, like with the dragonball series and Death Note

Generally subs... Most dubs are often horrible, although there are exceptions.
Couldn't imagine watching Yu Yu Hakusho without the dub.

Depends on the quality of each track, as well as the subject matter. For an anime like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, set in rural Japan, definitely the subtitled version (even if the dub wasn't atrocious), whereas I'll go with the dub for more internationalist anime if it's equal in quality.

Need some third option of being in the middle. I mostly prefer Japanese as the puns they make can't always carry over into English. However, there are some English dubs that I prefer to Japanese, namely FLCL, Gundam 08th MS Team, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Cowboy Bebop.

Also, if I really had to then I could watch an English dub and see it for all of its individual merits and failures rather than comparing every aspect to the Japanese track.

First time I go through a series, I go for the Dub. After that, most of the time I prefer subtitles. There are some series where I like the English dub, but most of them are kinda bad.

I'm not an elitist or a snob, and I don't look down on people for liking the dub. Especially since sometimes I just don't feel like reading.

seriously, since I actually started studying Japanese properly, the English lot just don't cut it. Though watching it without subtitles is still a bit difficult. watching it on Japanese tv stations helped though. ^_^

also, House with japanese subs is HILARIOUS! they totally don't get his saracasm. one. little. bit.

If I'm watching any show, it has to be in English, or possibly German. I won't watch anything I have to read subtitles for.

At first I watched them in English, no I watch them in Japanese with English subs...

Of course, I'll always watch the Dragonball series (except DB Kai) in English.
Because those are the voices I'm used to.
I also don't have to bother with reading subtitles all the time that way.

This boils done to a few things. First off can you speak the original language in question? If not subs might suck for you. If you don't get the language a bad voiceover or good voiceover will pass your head. We can only really appreciate a language we can moreso understand the inflections of, especially in a comedy.

Beyond that the dub quality is brought into question, if it's good like the Trigun, Gurren Lagann, or wonderful Cowboy Bebop dub you're good. If it's crappy then go to subs.

Now if you have a good dub, on par with the original in some ways, maybe even better in some cases take the dub. Subs can sometimes be finnicky, they also require you to dart back up and down not always appreciating the actual show going on. If the dubs good, go dub. If you want another experience, or if the sub is exceptional, than go sub. But as for me I dub.

I stick to Japanese with subs. The Japanese voice actors generally sound much emotional, and they usually just fit more. The only dub I prefer is Cowboy Bebop, since listening to a Japanese voice actor try to say "Adios, Cowboy." was just.... terrible.

japanese, any day, its a beautiful language that rolls of your tongue! but when i watched "black cat" there was no original for some reason, but i enjoyed it anyway, but in most cases the voices sound terrible in translation and ruin the whole episode/series

Depends on the anime. But i mostly go with the japanese with subs. I just prefer it that way.

Most anime is much better in the orignal form, but death note is just as good either way, and Funi's DBZ dub has MUCH better music and voices than the japense one, excluding the main theme song Cha-La Head-Cha-La.

I'm almost always going to watch a dub. I really don't care whether people argue that the Japanese voices are better - I can't understand them, and therefore I'm not going to care about voice actor quality and therefore may as well watch it on mute. I will only watch a subbed version if the voice actors are horrifically bad.

Dub, the men damn near always sound like women to me in the original Japanese.

interestingly, the voice actor for negi in "negima" was a woman, but i wouldn't have known just by watching the series
