Generally, it depends on the dub, if it is really bad, then I'll go for the sub (like with Yugioh 5ds or anything that was dubbed by 4kids)

Some anime, albeit rare, are actually better with English dubbing, Death Note really comes to mind when I say this.
I'm watching the death note dub at the moment, around episode 30 or so, And I have to agree with you on this. the second title screen is really annoying in my opinion though.

I prefer dubs. If it's a good anime I've probably already read the manga so none of the source material is being lost in the lip-sink. (not that they loose that much anyway.)

I swear we had this exact thread less than a week ago.

OT: Subs it is, because I never like the sound or accent of the dub voices.

Why isn't their a depends option? It honestly depends on the anime. With One Piece or Bleach I would choose subs, but for Cowboy Bebop or FMA I choose dubs. And is it me or is this type of poll up all the time?
It's funny...the more popular the anime, the more garbage the dub. It makes no sense whatsoever (though I guess it does, keep as much profit as possible by hiring cheap VAs).

It depends. Sometimes, english voices are god awful. Like in the Death Note anime. But that whole series was god awful, not a patch on the manga.
Sometimes, however, english voices seem to suit better. Meh. My opinion: Just read the manga >_>

Your missing the "I like both as long as the Dubbing is good" option.

IIf they dont sound like idiots ((Point in case: Cowboy Bebop)) then i perfur the Dub. Lets me keep my eyes focused more on the characters and actions.

If its horrible. ((point in case: DBZ after the second season)) then no. Id rather brush my teeth with steel wool then listen to the horribly picked voice actors.

I think subtitles are too much of a distraction. When I spend half the time reading what's on the bottom of the screen, it feels like I'm missing most of what's actually going on.

I'll take dubs if they're available. I'm not one of those people who thinks everything voiced by an American voice actor is absolute shit. I have never seen a dubbed anime that I would consider to be awful. (Unless one counts anything by 4Kids with all the other crap they change.)

There's a reason the voices are in Japanese.
Yeah. That would be because the cartoons are MADE in JAPAN.

Sometimes I wonder if anyone in Japan complains this incessantly about American cartoons being "horribly" dubbed in Japanese.

Subs. As for why, Most of my experinces with dubes is that they have all been horrible(Except for some rare cases.)and i can read fairly fast and still get whats going on in the anime.

I've nothing against the idea of dubs, but the acting is almost invariably awful, so I prefer subtitling. It sucks, because it means that people who don't read as fast as the subtitles dictate usually have to pick a crap option. >>

Where is the Both option?

I like Subs and Dubs.
With some animes i prefer the subs but others i prefer the dubs.

Its funny, in Bleach i like both, i like some of the voices on the Dub better than the original voices(Ganju, Hanataro, Gin, Kukaku, Kenpachi)

It depends on the quality of the dub. Example, Ponyo was very well dubbed, and thus you gain nothing from watching it in Japanese. Spirited Away, on the other hand, had some major problems, as do many anime, with flat voice acting. If its poorly done I can read subs. If the Dub is nice ill watch dubbed

It's not like you're going to miss anything else than the 4-5 shots of a character during any speech, so subs are mainly what I watch.

It all depends on quality

I wont touch a naruto episode unless i have a ten foot pole and it is subbed. Believe IT!!!! GAHH!!!@#@#@$#$@$%%$#%

I love the dubs of fma, lucky star, and hellsing. Bleach is the toss of a coin because that series is never going to fucking end.

"GTFO of my Escapist, anime nerds!", simply because you're being such an arse about dubbed voices.
