Whoa, whoa, whoa, you mistake me as a person who believes what I am doing is right. I know I am stealing. I know I am a thief. I know that I am taking food out of the mouths of the creators, but the thing is that I don't really care that much. I am a bad man.
*snipt*
I am not defending my actions in this thread, I'm merely condemning my fellows bad men/women who consider themselves above me, and at the same time suggesting that if anime translators want to profit from my/our evil ways, they need to adapt to me, because I represent their market. (or at least a large portion of it) The producers must adapt to the demands of the market, or at least they should if they want to make money.
You are a bad man. Doubly so because you know damn well there are legal ways to get anime without paying for it, but you still pirate. In other words, you go out of your way to steal it, which is--forgive me for saying it, but I gotta call it like it is--a total dick move. Why is that?
I only stream from sponsored sites like Crunchyroll, so yes, I do think I'm above you. Plus, how are the producers supposed to "adapt" to you when you've already made it clear that you're going to steal their product no matter what they do? What possible incentive is there for them to try to please you?
I never said I went out of my way to pirate. I specifically said that I've watched anime on youtube and hulu which are 100% legal and perfectly fine by me. (or maybe I forgot to mention that, but I meant to)
If more companies adapted to my desire and put their series up on hulu or youtube, then I'd watch more anime on hulu/youtube and thus they'd get more ad dollars from me.
Edit: Oh, and I
did mention that I watch some anime legally.

The only reasonable way to get me to stop pirating is to offer up anime/manga for "free" by paying for it with advertising. I'm excited to see animes (actually just all sorts of shows) getting released via Hulu and Youtube for "free" (not really free since there's advertising but it's free enough for me)
I can only hope that manga companies (or at least manga translating companies) might start doing the same. Give me a full manga online and pay for it by having adds that pop up all around the boarders of it for every page.
I don't think you're above me, because you apparently judged me without actually reading my posts.
Oh, and so as not to come off as a "total dick" thanks for mentioning Crunchyroll. If that is a legal streaming site then I'll make sure to check it out myself.
