Today I plan on preordering BF3 and then MW3 soon after. I plan on getting both and Enjoying both equally.

So is anyone else getting Both MW3 and BF3?

Also, I just wish to know, you don't need to go on a rant explaining why one is better then the other.

I would get both, but seeing as how EA is ignoring the complaints about the ToS for Origin I will not be getting BF3. I've been playing Battlefield games since 1942, and this is the first time I'm actively not excited because I know I won't be supporting EA at this time. It's the same reason I'll miss out on The Old Republic and the new Mass Effect.

CoD has been generically shit since MW1. I say generically as each game plays, feels, sounds and pretty much is very similar to it's prequel. I might purchase CoD 9 (since I have money down that it'll be the last CoD for a very long time) on the grounds that they might actually spend some time making it uniquely different with the flow of a CoD game... Like sequels should be!

I hate the excuse "but it's a sequel so it should be almost the same." because I think sequels should be vastly different.
Okay, so there's no right side to this argument but if a developer is going to make a sequel pretty much the bloody same as its predecessor, I shouldn't be charged £40 + for it. I own the dam prequel so sod-the-fuck-off if you think I'm paying that much for a lengthened story and blended multiplayer on a game I already paid a small fortune for.

BF3 seems to be trying too hard with this whole "stealing CoDs fanbase" act. In fact, I loved BF2, BFBC and BFBC2. But BF3 feels way too unpolished on console in the beta & if they can get everything working in time for release; Dice should get an award just for that. I do plan on picking up BF3 sometime after christmas, when all the CoD fans leave it be or actually get good at it & when Dice have had enough time to patch the game to a balanced standard.

I pre-ordered Skyrim, because it's almost guaranteed to be GotY. Morrowind, Oblivion & Fallout 3 were off the scale in excellence & when I played Arena after forcefully getting myself into the mindset of how I played DooM in the 90's; I thoroughly enjoyed that too.

I'm skint - I hate what CoD's become, I'm not fond of what BF3 could well become and I can't afford any more than 1 game at this time of year...
So I went with the absolute winner of a game that has enough content to be worth the price of MW3 10 times over & isn't a risk-buy.

Nope.

Getting both would seem a bit redundant when I can just get my preferred one and save a a bunch of cash.

MW3, probably. I want to see the end of the story mode. I don't care if it's a load of crap, I finish what I start. Battlefield 3... probably not. I was never very invested in the story- hell, I'm not even sure there IS one. However, if the gameplay is innovative and crazy enough, then I have the disposable income to get both.

Nope, but my mates surely are so I'm covered well :D

They aren't my type of game so I really don't intend to drop that sort of cash on them, play the SP if there is something new and I'm done.

Waiting on reviews for BF3, but probably that.

Not going to get MW3 no matter how good the reviews come up, I'm sick of CoD. I loved CoD4, enjoyed WaW, didn't like MW2, and was sick of CoD by the time I played Black Ops.

So my fall plan is: Got Dark Souls, wait on Batman, check reviews for BF3, pre-order Skyrim, skip MW3, wait on AC:Revelations, and hope Christmas is bountiful.

Pre ordered BF3.

Will probably rent MW3, or buy it if I can get it for half price by trading in MW2 or something, if anything to justify that the story will be terrible and the Multiplayer the same.

Yes I'm getting both because they are good in different ways if nothing else I'm a loyal to BF, but I played most CoD since MW... and want to know "the end" by myself and know if the feeling is good and/or what to say about the game... more than "CoD sux n00b..." and "BF rulez" witch is childish and not very informative...

Eh...I'm probably getting MW3 because I'm weak like that. I'll look at reviews for BF3. The problem is I know I'm not going to pour a ton of hours into both, so I might need to make a decision.

Nah, grabbing BF3, already pre-ordered and anxiously waiting for the 28th. I'll check out MW3 with a rental or at a mate's place or something as the single player and the co-op bits interest me, but I'm not interested in the multiplayer, so it's not worth buying for me.

I'm done with the Modern Warfare series forever.

BF3's gameplay should be much better, as long as it is on a larger scale, has plenty of freely-drivable vehicles, and plays on the strengths of Battlefield gameplay only a complete idiot could screw it up. BF without vehicles and without scale would be like Deus Ex without augmentations and conspiracy theories.

I think BF3 will have some elements ripped off MW, such as the extent of customisation, and possibly perks and killstreaks. Not sure about that. If done well those additions could be awesome and I will suck DICE's d**k, if not... screw you, D**kless Imp Clowns Emeritus.

Even if I decide to get neither, my little bro would get both, and I usually end up playing the games he buys more than he does. So yeah, consider me buying both.

Wait, what?

They significantly changed origin's terms, in one of the rare instances where a bunch of people whining on the internet actually paid off.

This is something we probably won't see again in ages, and we're pretending it didn't happen?

Getting EA to recant as much as they did is tantamount to Scrooge suddenly loving Christmas. While the end result may not benefit tiny Tim is much, it hardly seems fair to ignore.

I'm not going to get either, but I think quite a few people will buy both, especially considering that Gamestop in the UK are running a scheme where they will pay you £4 to rent Battlefield 3 for three weeks [http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-10-20-gamestop-trade-bf3-to-get-mw3-for-GBP0-99] before you buy Modern Warfare 3.

Neither.
I hate Modern warfare games, 1,2 and i'm not going to bother with 3. Its funny because everybody complains about (Quickscoping,Noobtubes, and commando) then Black ops comes out. It takes care of all these problems and what do people do? Complain that they are gone, exactly why i can see these 3 aspects are going to be in MW3, so fuck that.

Battlefield on the other hand looks like a lot of effort has been put in this time around so well done to them on that. I've never played a battlefield game before and i think i got about 10+ hours into the BETA which i enjoyed.
Still not enough though for me.

As other people have said, ill be getting my Skyrim and be happy.

Definitely not buying either, but I may rent CoD 8 just to see how they wrap up their ridiculous story. I mean besides the only believable ending of ICBM's fall, everyone dies.
