How is that shitty? Relaxing nightlife is boring as fuck.
Going out for the sole purpose of being stone drunk and wasting money to not remember a night =/= fun.

Chilling with mates, having a social drink and having a laugh = fun.

Going out and doing nothing but sitting around =/= fun.

Going out, getting drunk and doing some stupid thing = fun. Its called living up a little bit. You should look into it.

A lot of bars (not clubs, mind you) have game nights. They are usually built around quick games with only small intervals of play then varying amounts of downtime. Wii Sports, WarioWare and other "challenge" type games are ideal for that (I believe there was an Escapist article on this).

Basing the entire bar/business plan around gaming is another endeavor. Hopefully Yahtzee and crew have looked a lot at the demographics of the area and have enough of a gaming crowd that they can: 1. Have plenty of gamers to get money from, and 2. The ability to coax them from their dwellings. After that turning new customers into regulars is the trick.

It's like having video games girls and drinks all in one place with out having to get out that's why it would seem great to me
I wouldn't get your hopes too high about the "girl" part. Remember the gaming community is very male dominated and even here on the escapist the members are overwhelmingly male. I can see this place turning into a major sausage fest fast.

barfing in a bin claiming it was the best night you'll ever have before passing out and stumbling home without pants.
More people should do this XD Where is your sense of adventure? XD

I'm kidding! I don't condone that stuff, while I do find it funny:p

OT: I'm happy for Yahtzee. Good on him for doing something hella outside the box.

Sounds good to me. Going out with some mates, some drinks, play a few games. Although Pubs > Clubs any day of the week.

You saying that it should be more like a normal nightclub which there are probably lots of anyway? So your saying that he should be no different, with no uniqueness to the bar?

If what you suggested is what you want in your nightlife then go to a nightclub. There are plenty of them. This thread was a bit stupid. The message I'm getting is: It shouldnt be different, just add more sex and booze.

I don't think it's a lame idea, however, I would like to punch the 51 people who voted for "Who cares if it's run by yahtzee" for their fanboyism.

I know James Rolfe (Aka the angry video game nerd) would love it there! It sounds enjoyable if I drank and if I was at the legal age lol

I'd go to it...if I was 21...and lived in Austrailia. Point is, I wish there were more places like it.

I would like to clarify some things I might have stated wrong or wrongly worded. Around my area(Central Wisconsin of the US) we usually have day time bars that kinda morph into a bar/dance club during night. Most bars are like this as my area doesn't have any pure "dance club" areas to be honest. We usually just refer to a club or a bar as pretty much the same thing. Hope this can clear things up a bit.

Correct me if I am wrong but the legal drinking age in Australia is 18 I believe.

Gamers are frequently drunk whilst playing. Why not just combine the two and charge for the privilege? It sounds like a damn profitable idea to me.

I did for a few years. Then I realised it was a ridiculous waste of money and time. If you can't be fairly sober and do something crazy and have fun, then I'd seek professional help.

I'd rather go to a place like Mana Bar than to a normal night club, mostly as I dance like I'm holding a power cable, so I think it's a good idea and I hope it spreads throught the world.

think it seems like a pretty good idea. I don't know how many people know about Dave&Busters, or if their wide spread at all. But i have one near me, and it basically an arcade, bar and restaurant for adults only that you can play games and get trashed at. Its a little different since it has more of an arcade focus, but it is still very popular around here.

You have clearly never been to Wisconsin.
