I just missed my AP English and my AP Calculus tests due to some really bad pnemonia. Which means im going to have to make them up. I've taken AP tests before, but I have no idea how make up tests work with AP, so I feel a bit lost. I also lost a lot of studying time thanks to my illness, so I probably won't do as well as I would have. Ah well, such is life.

Yup. I've had AP English Lang and Comp and AP Biology. The classes were reasonable, but the College Board AP Tests were fucking horrible.

Just took the AP United States History Test on Friday, I think I got a 5 on the test, although I did kind of screw up on essay on changes from 1945-1985...
Same.
That question about the Puritans was cake, though.

AP stands for Advanced Placement. An AP course is the equivalent to a college course, so needless to say they're very difficult and time intensive.
OT: I was going to take AP Bio as a freshman, but changed my mind due to me lacking the time for it and the fact that I'll never use Biology in my life-I'm not planning on going into any field where that's necessary. I'll probably take AP US History as a Sophomore next year, since I actually find the subject interesting.

AP does not exist in my school board, I am asleep in class almost every day as a result.

I didnt really care about high school. I could have taken then, but I liked taking it easy. Besides the fact that high school was such a waste of time.
I agree that high school is a massive waste of time and probably the biggest scam ever, which is even more reason to take AP classes so you don't have to take them same damn classes again in college. It is the next best thing to attending a community college during your high school years. The high school administrators strongly discourage this, since their pay is based on student attendance. They would much rather hold you back and make more money than see you succeed in a better environment. Hurray for rational self-interest!

OT: I took AP classes and managed to skip a whole year as far as credits went.

Who is taking or has taken the super-scary AP Physics B exam tomorrow?
My school only offers a couple of AP courses, but I've taken them all, because I'm an overachiever. Well, not really. I slack my ass off. But I've taken the exams. But the science exams weren't offered to me. I'll give you my two cents anyways.

My advice for you, don't worry about it. Study you material, but don't go nuts. If you can comprehend what you are doing, you are more than halfway there. You'll do fine.

Thanks, but for me, bringing myself to study is half the battle
Bringing myself to study is the whole battle. Hahaha

I'm set to take the Human Geography AP exam this Friday. To say something vaguely interesting (since as a freshman I don't have much in the way of testing accomplishments), I'm taking it at Bob Jones University.

I took AP Statistics and United States History last week. I'm not taking any this week, but next year I'll be taking AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, and maybe AP Chemistry and/or AP US Government. $258-$430 for exams next year... ugh...

I took 3 AP courses in High School (US History, US Government, Economics), but only took one of the tests. I'd make some excuses, but i'll go ahead and be honest by saying that I didn't think i'd do well on the other two tests, so I opted out of taking them. Looking back.. I sorta wish I had, but that was my Senior Year of HS, and I just didn't give a damn anymore.

Yea it counts towards college credit. So it's like a college course you take in high school...sorta
Taking AP courses does present the same material as some introductory college courses but in my experience they are not a substitute. I have seen many of my friends who have taken AP classes and passed the exams then struggle in college courses that cover the next level material. AP classes are not a substitute for college level courses. For all of you out there taking AP classes, my advice to you is to NOT take the college credit, but to retake the classes when you get to college. This will give you a very solid foundation to build from and you will have a much much easier time your first semester at college.
But remember it's great to get those GE classes out of the way with, but if it's related to what you plan to major, then you are right and those should be taken again.

I would've taken AP US History, but counselor pointed out that it would just be a joke to me...apparently I over-did it on my summer homework. Same for my AP European History.

AP Physics C, well, best of luck with that. I'm taking the exam tomorrow. Hope you like calculus! Lots and lots of calculus!

How many people here are taking/have taken the AP Physics C exams? (Both electricity and magnetism AND/OR mechanics?)

APs are nice, so are IBs, they're great for getting a bunch of credits, especially in less than useful things like Gen EDs or Electives, you pay that much less. Sometimes you can even become a sophomore via credits (although it may not be suggested).

As for myself, I've already taken AP Calculus BC (kinda hard, but I feel like I got a 4 or 5). Then a bunch of IBs and more to come. Then 3 late APs (Computer Science, US History, English Lang) on the 19th and 20th.

Also, don't worry too much on the Physics B. Basically, there is so much content that everyone is extremely unprepared. Getting half of the MC at best and 1/3rd of the Free Response netted me a 3 (my worst AP, QQ). Basically, if you can get like 60-70% MC and 1/2 to 2/3rds of free response, that's a 5.

I'm pretty sure IB is higher
Right now in the states I think for the most part they are viewed about the same with maybe a little more favor for IB. As it should. I passed all my AP test but didn't pass one IB test.

I took my first Ap test on Friday (I am a Sophomore)

It was Ap European history. I think I did well. But who knows?
Yea AP Euro wasn't too bad. The only problem was the fact that I had to take a huge shit which caused me to rush a little bit. Oh what a glorious shit it was though, clogged the school toilet and everything.

Anyway, I have taken Euro and AB Calc already and still have English Lang and Environmental Science this upcoming week.
