Personally I'm foe.

Firstly for things like this:http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2011/may/21/apple-upgrades-itunes-version (thanks to Tigermilk for bringing it to my attention)

And secondly for this... event... What the actual fuck?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-13416272

I personally prefer customising my own PC and using Windows, which for me is far cheaper than buying the latest ultra-thin, shiny bit of iWank whenever Steve Jobs claps his hands. (I've used Macs at uni to do video editing and I'm not a fan, so I'm not just slagging them off for the sake of it).

Also, just to reiterate about that bbc vid above... WHAT!?

Anywho, discuss.

EDIT: Poll doesn't seem to have loaded, nevermind

Foe. I enjoy my PC and its cheapness that i can then customize. Oh, you're new apple laptop has 4 GBs and cost you 2500 dollars? My laptop cost me about a fifth of that, and after customizing it to have a 3TB memory, only spent 575.

Plus aside from my roommate, every mac user I'VE MET (does not extend to everyone) was a pretentious dick, and took it so far that I've devoted any free time to just making viruses for them.

You have 3TB RAM? Interesting.

I know you're just getting storage space and memory confused, but it would be awesome if someone actually had a computer that could make use of that kinda memory.

EDIT: OK, you can stop quoting me now, everyone has made their point that I was mistaken >.<

I use a pc, but I use Ipods and a have a little bit of apple software on my computer, so I can't really say I'm pointed either way.

Also, just watched the video, the moon landing appears to be minor compared to a new apple product.

They do, it's just not desktop machines that have them. Servers these days are pretty damned impressive.

OT: Apple is definitely FOE.

its RAM. I bought my laptop, tore it apart, built it back up, and put it in my own ram. the memory space is only 2TBs.

Though really my friend is more impressive. Albeit his is a Desktop, but he has 10TB Ram, and and extra 5 TB storage space that he'll never fill in his entire life.

If nothing else, why not be happy that Microsoft has someone to butt heads with. Competition in industry is good for the consumers.

Not to mention, Apple plays "That guy" for all the PC people to collectively hate on. I know people love that.

I mean, I can't see a purpose to this thread other than giving people a space to rant about how much they hate Apple. This is a PC-gamer heavy site, so chances are, there will be few to post anything positive about Apple, and few who will listen.

Its like going onto a forum about running, and asking if people are going to prefer shoes made for athleticism or for non-athletic functions.

I have both XP and Mac computers. I mainly use the Mac for non-gaming activities and it works just fine. Never had any real issues with it and 5 years and 2 OS upgrades later it still keeps up. Now my XP machine has had some problems lately and it's Microsoft's incompetence made it take half a day to fix something that should have taken about 20 minutes to deal with. Short version, .Net Framework 3.0 & 3.5 quit working, couldn't uninstall, couldn't reinstall, and no repair option available. I eventually found a 3rd party app that could clean out specific versions of .Net and was able to get it reinstall both of them. But now I'm having issues with my Razor mouse driver that will on rare occasions crash, which eventually leads to an XP BSOD and my system rebooting.

Friend. I own a Mac and an iPod, currently looking for an iPad.

I mean yeah, they do stupid shit sometimes (seriously Apple, add flash to the iPad), but that never stopped their products from being good... most of the time.

Plus it's my policy not to have boneheaded fanboy thoughts dictate what equipment I buy. I bought the Mac since it made the most sense for me. If I needed more Windows programs and were more into PC gaming, I'd get a PC though.

I would say I'm a friend. I own a Macbook and an iPod and both work well. I did install Windows on my Macbook so I can get PC Games from Steam. But I do enjoy my OS and Safari. It's a simple, streamlined appearance that I enjoy.

I don't like how people treat Apple like a religion and Jobs like a prophet. Buying everything that they make is just silly unless you actually have a reason for it. I also don't like how they charge $25 for headphones that break after 3 months.

Overall, I like them, but I am not obsessed. They make good products that work fairly well, at least in my use of them.

To summarise...

I love my iPod Touch. I really don't like using my Mac Mini, and wouldn't ever choose one as my primary PC. All my Apple stuff has been super reliable, but my girlfriends Macbook has broken down a whole bunch of times. That said, Apple customer service has been top notch at getting it fixed up. I think Apple products on the whole are probably too expensive for what they are, but at least they're generally good quality and look snazzy.

I uninstalled iTunes because of all the random crap they force on you, so I'd say they are a foe. Considering how I hate their business practices too much to tolerate any of their other sub-standard overpriced shit, yeah I think I'll stick with the whole foe thing.

The iPod was good, and a good invention.
After that, noooo. (Isn't the iPad just a bigger iTouch!?)
Especially after reading that news article... *facepalm*
But hey, good on Steve Jobs. He knows people are thick as shit and earns money off it.

I'm not a boneheaded windows fanboy, I've had experience of both its just what I prefer. If I had the spare cash I'd buy an iPad, I think die-hard fanboyism is stupid. Its just when Apple pull shit like in the newspaper article I'd be pretty pissed, hence the thread. Also the video was just too weird.

Foe. My Itunes has fucked over my computer forever. Every time I plug in my iPod, a little window pops up saying iTunes doesn't work. If I clikc on it, it will lag my computer down in an attempt to get it to work, then go back to the first window. If I cancel out of it, the same thing occurs. I cannot access Itunes at all, and I can't even remove it from my computer. I use another program for my iPod, but the cds my friend put on my iPod I can't take any songs off of. Also, I had plenty of money still on my Itunes, but it all went to my friend's girlfriend because he logged in as her, and I couldn't get onto mine ever again.

Plus Apple fanboys are giant douchebag elitists. All those commercials depicting PC users as dumasses and Mac users as smart people? They can go fuck off. I shouldn't be mocked because of the type of computer I use.
